First Command Educational Foundation
This year, we mourn the loss of two of the Foundations devoted speakers. They volunteered their knowledge, experience, and time to help others achieve personal financial literacy. Their contributions to the Foundation will always be remembered.
Charles F. Riordan III Major, USAF (Retired) October 25, 1953 - February 27, 2005 As a certified volunteer of the Speakers Bureau, Chuck Riordan was an enthusiastic and powerful voice of the Foundation. He had strong convictions about the need for financial education and also served as a volunteer for the Personal Financial Management Program at Eglin AFB for five years. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Chuck served his country for 19 years, finally retiring with the rank of Major. He served 3 years as Instructor Pilot at Reese AFB, 4 years as Aircraft Commander at Elmendorf AFB, 3 years as Instructor Aircraft Commander at Little Rock AFB, and 4 years as Instructor Aircraft Commander at Scott AFB. We appreciate Chuck’s years of service, and his involvement with the Foundation will be greatly missed.
James Weaver Colonel, USAF (Retired) December 4, 1940 - September 21, 2005 Jim Weaver brought 10 years of financial advisor experience to the Foundation’s Speakers Bureau. As a certified volunteer, Jim was a knowledgeable, talented speaker and an important member of the team. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Jim served for 26 years and flew over 260 combat missions as a F-100D/F Super Saber Pilot in Vietnam. As well as being an instructor pilot, Jim was also commander of 2 UPT squadrons at Laughlin AFB, deputy commander of operations at Randolph AFB, wing commander at Officer Training School, and vice commander at Air Force Institute of Technology. Jim’s participation with the Foundation will be greatly missed.
