From Sap to Syrup

Most holy Apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases, of things despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help, where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolation and help of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings and that I may prasie God with you and all the elect forever. I promise. O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen. P.S.

“March is a month of considerable frustration; it is so near spring and yet across a great deal of the country the weather is still so violent and changeable that outdoor activity in our yards seems light years away.”
--Thalassa Cruso
These words certainly apply to the weather this year. Mother Nature has been toying with us. One day it is in the 60s with bright sunshine; the next it is cold, windy and dreary.
But the sunsets come later each day and there are subtle signs of spring if you know where to look. You might find an early crocus giving a pop of purple to a warm corner of your yard or a patch of snowdrops that appeared as soon as the snow on top of them melted.
The calendar says it is now officially Spring. We just have to be patient and wait a little bit longer for it to really be here.
