EDEN-NORTH COLLINS PENNYSAVER
Lucy Heffernan was an 8th grader at Eden Middle/High School in 2020. Covid restrictions kept her home with too much free time, so she decided to have a food drive for the Eden-North Collins Food Pantry. Lucy stuck a letter on each neighbor's mailbox in her neighborhood, asking for non-perishable items of food. She collected the donations in a wagon she pulled up and down the street, and gathered 290 pounds of food. She decided to make this food drive a Thanksgiving tradition, challenging her neighbors to donate more each year. Last year she collected 650 pounds of food for the pantry. Lucy is a senior, and this will be her last food drive. She hoped to top last year's total by 100 pounds, so stepped up her campaign. She was quite persuasive, as she received 1234 pounds of food this year! Many generous neighbors who donated to Lucy's food drive. She has shown such generosity of her time and such commitment to our pantry. The Brant Town Hall

75 YEARS OF SERVICE…
Memory is the diary that we carry with us every day. Memory was given to us that we might have roses in December and snowflakes in July if we wish to call them up in our mind’s eye…
We are all ruled by our memories, but we can choose what we remember. A person with a bad memory is often not one who forgets, but one who remembers the wrong things.
You sometimes hear it said that someone has “long” memories. They cherish grudges for a lifetime. They remember unwise and hateful words or thoughtless acts which hurt. Others also might have “long” memories, but theirs are joyful and pleasant —the highlights of their years, favors done in an hour of need, support from friends, tender thoughts of family and friends, joyful times.
Memory is a God-given gift. The capacity to forget is also a gift when the things that need to be forgotten are bitter to the taste and incapable of being remedied.
Make remembrances a blessing, not a burden, in your life.
