Cynthia Beth Smith
Beth Smith, age 64, of Eden, New York, died Saturday, December 7, 2024. Cindy has been responding to those in need in our community for more than 41 years, being on the forefront of making EEMS what it is today. Cindy was very dedicated to the Eden Emergency Squad during her tenure, as a member of the "1000-Hour Club", which is reserved for members who pull more than 1000 hours of call time across a calendar year. While being one of the first Intermediate Life Support certified members, Cindy took active roles in the leadership, patient care, and social aspects of EEMS. As an ILS and EMS lieutenant for many years, Cindy always cared for the needs of others before her own, instantly dropping whatever she was doing to answer the call for a person in need. Cindy knew the next generation of EMTs would propel EEMS into the future, so she was often found tutoring EMT students before their academic and skills tests. A number of our current members credit Cindy for being the reason they joined EEMS and have gone on to make an impact in our town. The fellowship of the agency was close to Cindy's heart, taking a lead role in planning friendly gatherings or the annual installation dinner; anything to get people together and laughing. The Corn Festival was a standout time of year, where on parade day you could always find Cindy at the intersection of Rt. 62 and Schoolview, pumping children up for the excitement of the day. As we all carry on through this difficult time, take a moment to be like Cindy; make somebody smile, show somebody you care about them above yourself, do a random act of kindness for a person in our community. Memorials may be made to the Eden Emergency and Rescue Squad, PO Box 111, Eden, NY 14057. Words of sympathy may be left on www.LaingFuneralHome.com

Healthy NEW YEAR
Eden Family Dental has invested in two new pieces of equipment that we are excited to utilize for our patients.
Our doctors and assistant have been trained to use a digital scanner to view our patient's teeth in 3D. is is a no-radiation scanner and, in many cases, can eliminate the need to take goopy impressions of the mouth. is makes our appointments quicker and less risk of gagging during impressions.
ese scans transmit within seconds to our in-house dental mill, which employs CAD-CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) to fabricate ceramic crowns within 40 minutes. is allows our patients to be tted with their permanent dental crown at one visit, rather than returning in 1-2 weeks or wearing a temporary crown.
Eden Family Dental is continuously looking for ways to improve the dental experience for our patients and to accommodate everyone's busy schedule.
We are currently accepting new patients, so please call 992-9511 to get scheduled for your comprehensive exam and cleaning!

WHAT CAN CRACKS
CAUSE?
It allows moisture to penetrate the protective surface of the coating, and cause rust and corrode on the roof. The fracture in the paint can cause a painted panel to corrode at a faster rate than an unpainted panel.
WANT A ROOF THAT LOOKS BRAND NEW ALL THE TIME?
You should use our metal roof that made with the EVERLAST HEAT FORMING PROCESS! It creates a more flexible paint system that is better than withstand the rigors of the forming process. The paint coverage is not compromised, and the result is outstanding barrier protection. This barrier protection prevents corrosion by isolating the steel from the environment.

A THOUGHT TO REMEMBER…
“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” - Plato
As the new year unfolds, many of us are making resolutions or other plans for what we will do in 2025. In many ways it’s an exciting time! We have a whole year to fill with activities, travel and achievements. But the time goes quickly.
Are you vowing to quit smoking, lose weight, find a new job or go back to school? Are you planning a family wedding, a wonderful trip, or a party to celebrate some milestone… Making a beginning toward any of these things is the hard part. But making that first step of commitment can set you on the road to completion and success.
What do you have planned for the new year? What dream do you hope to fulfill? Make a beginning toward it before the year gets away from you.
