Eden Family Dental has invested in two new pieces of equipment that we are excited to utilize for our patients.
Our doctors and assistant have been trained to use a digital scanner to view our patient's teeth in 3D. is is a no-radiation scanner and, in many cases, can eliminate the need to take goopy impressions of the mouth. is makes our appointments quicker and less risk of gagging during impressions.
ese scans transmit within seconds to our in-house dental mill, which employs CAD-CAM (computer aided design and manufacturing) to fabricate ceramic crowns within 40 minutes. is allows our patients to be tted with their permanent dental crown at one visit, rather than returning in 1-2 weeks or wearing a temporary crown.
Eden Family Dental is continuously looking for ways to improve the dental experience for our patients and to accommodate everyone's busy schedule.
We are currently accepting new patients, so please call 992-9511 to get scheduled for your comprehensive exam and cleaning!
Your Community, Your News... A Very Cool Event!
Helping our town stay safe and cool on hot summer days for years to come. That is what the Eden United Methodist Church is looking forward to with the help of the Eden Foundation’s generosity. “We are blessed to have a great congregation of caring people in a wonderful facility right in the middle of town.” Says Pastor Kate Zimmerman. “The church and its building have served the citizens of Eden for over 200 years and now with the help of a matching grant from the Eden Community Foundation we it can do an even better and safer job of serving.” In June the church trustees installed air conditioning to the church’s kitchen and fellowship hall where many church and town events are held. Events include Vacation Bible School, town recreation department’s exercise class, summer music lessons, town wide dinners, AA meetings, Youth Summer Theater Camp and the town’s Alzheimer’s Respite program. Over the course of a year thousands of Eden residents attend events in the church building. “We are thankful to the Eden Community Foundation for helping us to make this building more comfortable and safer for all those that use it.” Says Diana Graovac the Chairperson of the EUMC Trustees. “This goes along with the installation of an AED (Automatic Electronic Defibrillator) done last year also with the help of the Foundation.” A very comfortable dedication ceremony was held on a very hot July 16th when the Respite Program was meeting with over 50 volunteers and guests present exemplifying the importance of this investment in our town.
In the heart of our food pantry, we stand side by side, A family of volunteers, with love as our guide. Through laughter and smiles, we share in the task, with jokes that unite us, no need to ask. Some days feel heavy, while others are light, We lift each other up, from morning to night. Sorting and packing, our hands move as one, In giving we find joy, our work has just begun. For every face, we offer a meal, A gesture of kindness, a way to help heal. Together we’ve journeyed, through ups and downs, Building a bond that forever surrounds. So here’s to the moments, both silky and sweet, To the heart and the laughter that makes us complete. I’m grateful to work with each of you here, you see.
Each season, there are specific maintenance items that should be on your list for your next visit. The Fall begins to ring in the colder temperatures, which means fall maintenance checklist there are certain things you need to be preparing for in order to better safeguard your car against the harsher weather to come. Let's go over some of the most important areas you should pay the greatest attention to:
Once the Fall season begins, and the weather begins to turn slightly colder, tires become very vulnerable. The autumn leaves on the ground also become a safety hazard by causing low tread tires to become slippery, especially when it rains. Inspect your tires to be sure the tread is not below 2/32 of inches and use a tire gauge for the most accurate reading. Ensuring that your tires are rotated also gives you the optimal advantage to grip the road. Additionally, check the air pressure of each tire for the proper PSIs (pounds per square inch).
Use the oil dipstick to check the engine oil level and make any necessary adjustments by topping off the fluid. Assess the quality of the oil to make sure it appears in good condition. One way to know if your engine oil has sufficient quality remaining is by looking at the color. New oil is always amber in color, and generally, it's see-through. Although it typically becomes darker over time, if the oil is extremely black, it's an indication that contaminants may be present. Compare your oil to the color of a Coca-Cola. If the color is similar, more likely than not, you're due for an oil change.
Do you ever check your exterior car lights, or do you wait to get pulled over and be issued a citation? If you're in the second category, then consider yourself among most drivers in Philly. Get into a routine of checking your front and rear lights more often, especially during the Fall season as kids go back to school and traffic patterns change. Remember, the Fall changes the natural sunlight pattern, so it's an imperative safety check for early morning and late-evening commuting.
Check your roadside emergency kit for essential items, such as jumper cables, flares, a flashlight, and basic tools. Check the windshield washer fluid reservoir and refill as needed. Check your spare tire to ensure that it is in place and properly inflated. Check your heating system by turning it on briefly to ensure that it blows warm air.
focuses on preparing your vehicle for colder, wetter, and darker conditions by checking essentials like tires, battery, lights, brakes, and fluids. You should also ensure your wipers and defroster are working, clean your car inside and out, and pack an emergency kit for the road.

Guests and Volunteers of the Eden Respite Program held their monthly gathering at the Eden Methodist Church Wednesday, August 20, 2025. The theme for the day marked a “Road Trip” through America’s highways and by-ways.The attendees enjoyed traveling the roads through picture books and travel related activities. Entertainment included song and dance performed by students from the church’s Vacation Bible School, and popular travel songs performed by the Junk Drawer Ukulele Band. Lunch was held in a “local diner” featuring diner foods of the 40’s and 50’s. There is no charge for attending the respite program, a service program supported by the Alzheimer’s Association. Designed for families of individuals with dementia, the Eden Respite Program is celebrating 10 years of service to the community.

The caption on this photo reads “Leisure Hours and the firm paid for them...on the platform. About 1902”.
Pictured in the photo are the workers and a few buildings of the Erie Preserving Company. Once located in Lot 10 on the Milestrip Road in Brant, N.Y., this area was also referred to as Fenton. At one time, Fenton even had its own post office. We learn the following from the information written by Nina Notaro-Faltus for our Brant history books: The Fenton family founded the Erie Preserving Company in 1873. This was the first canning plant in Erie County - and it all began in Brant, NY! Benjamin Fenton was the President and James Fenton the Secretary of the company. They were two of seven children of Sarah and Solomon Fenton. In 1885 James Fenton was one of the fourteen original founders of the Associated NYS Food Processors which was then known as NYS Canned Goods Packers Association.
The Erie Preserving Company preserved all kinds of fruits and vegetables; strawberries, raspberries, peaches, pears, pie plant (rhubarb), apples, peas, lima beans, tomatoes, plums, squash and pumpkin. Local people and French immigrants were first hired, followed by Italian families.
125 years ago, the Erie County Independent, Volume XVIII Number 42 dated August 18, 1893 published the following article titled: “BRANT ERIE PRESERVING COMPANY, PROSPEROUS PEOPLE ECT.” The article itself states: “This company has a regular village with streets, dwellings ect. [sic], and a colony of about 300, mostly Italians except division foreman, and the superintendent who is M. J. Brown and evidently the right man in the right place; he is affable, takes well with the producers, is prompt, vigilant and apparently never losing sight of any feature of the large interests entrusted to his care; the factory turns off 25,000 to 40,000 cans daily and we learn the products received for canning this season are exceptionally fine, consequently these canned goods cannot be excelled.”
Today the land that at one time housed the Fenton community and Erie Preserving Company is owned and farmed by Mike and Kellie Chiavetta of Chiavetta’s Potatoes and Greenhouse. This same plot of land was also once known as the Marion Chiavetta Farm.

“It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, and a day to love them, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them.”
Time is a funny thing; it can be our friend or foe. When we want moments to last so that we can savor them, it rushes past at dizzying speeds. When we want a bad time to pass quickly, the days drag on with agonizing slowness. And, when we’ve lost a loved one, it seems that we will never be able to imagine even a single day when we are not reminded of their absence.
It is never easy to lose someone special, but we can help make the difficult decisions a little easier to bear. During one of life’s most difficult times, we provide professional guidance that is respectful and thorough. We help you make arrangements that will honor your loved one in a way that is meaningful.
