In Memoriam
Our beautiful daughter, Jolleen, born on the 3rd of August 1977, was taken away from us on March 14, 2020.
Our hearts forever will never be the same. We pass her grave almost daily and stop periodically to say a prayer.
I hope it never happens to anyone we know or anyone we don’t know. She left 3 children behind, 2 are adults now. Someday, LORD willing, we’ll all be together again.
Love you baby, Ford Family
Dr. Mary Jo Hodge is being held at the PUBLIC HOUSE ON THE LAKE
4914 Lake Shore Rd., Hamburg, NY 14075 on Sunday, August 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
A few years before her death in the arms of her husband of 67 years, on November 3, 2022, she said she wanted people to come together in a very informal setting to eat, enjoy being together, and in general have fun reminiscing. Because it will be very informal, she hoped those attending would wear whatever they found most comfortable.
Born in Talladega, Alabama June 15, 1935, to J.B. and Allene McKinney, she had a very care-free and happy childhood. She grew up when children, without adult supervision, could take picnics to the “piney woods.” As a young girl, she liked to jump o fences and other daring pursuits.
Married at age 20, she subsequently earned bachelor and master degrees in psychology and, in her 40's, a doctorate in public administration. Fortunately, she was able to retire at age 55, 12 years, before being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at age 67.
Before Parkinson’s disease severely limited what she could do, she enjoyed textile arts including designing and making clothes, quilts and wall hangings and knitting sweaters with intricate patterns. She also loved downhill skiing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, shing, tent camping, participating in bridge groups, practicing low-fat gourmet cooking, traveling etc. In addition to her many professional memberships and honors, she was a past member of the Eden Garden Study Club and the Eden Quilt Guild.
Living in Eden since 1978, she loved her many ower beds and special seats throughout the yard - especially the one overlooking the creek. In her last years, she enjoyed her many orchids in the livingroom and watching the birds on the feeder outside the window.
An avid football fan all her life, she and her spouse were Bu alo Bills season ticket holders until Parkinson’s disease intervened. However, she remained an ardent Bu alo Bills and Auburn University football fan until her death. She was a very special person who was so loved by her family and community, and who will always be remember and loved by her family members.

Happy 50th Anniversary!
In 1972, I met this beautiful woman. Her name was Pearl Potozniak. As soon as I saw her ... WOW ... and I chased her down, and guess what? August 4, 1973, 50 years later, we’re still together! I’ve had a lot of health issues, and guess who has been by my side everyday?
