William J. Glatz of Boston, NY passed away suddenly Aug. 25, 2024 at the age of 61 years. Beloved husband of Elaine (Franklin) Glatz. Loving stepfather of Jason (Stephanie), and Garret (Melissa) Heusinger. Step grandfather of Violet and Sienna Heusinger. Brother of Michael Glatz and Karen Marini. No prior visitation. Jay Michael Armstrong

Jay Michael Armstrong, age 32, of East Eden, New York passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 24, 2024. Jay was born on October 27, 1991 in Buffalo, New York. He was a son of Kenneth J. Armstrong, Jr. and Kimberlee R. (Kramer) Armstrong. Jay was known for his avid fishing and his love of nature. He truly enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also loved spending quality time with his niece and nephews. Jay also enjoyed being with his dog, Millie. Jay was also known as a sports enthusiast

Besides his Father, Kenneth Armstrong, Jr., and Mother, Kimberlee (Kramer) Armstrong, Jay is survived by his grandparents, Kenneth and Virginia Armstrong and Jean and Charles Felser; brothers, Shane (Rachael) Armstrong and Mitchell (Sarah) Armstrong; his niece, Brystol Armstrong; nephews, Brantley and Hudson Armstrong. Jay was the nephew of Rex (Donelle) Kramer, Stacey Nowak, Jean (Richard) Zydel, Marie Armstrong and Christina (Jay) Donaldson. Jay is also survived by many cousins. Jay is predeceased by his grandfather, Raymond Kramer. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in St. Mary’s Oratory, East Eden. Flowers gratefully declined. A Congressional act on June 28, 1894 created Labor Day as a day dedicated to recognizing the social and economic achievements of American workers. It was a way to recognize their contributions to the strength, prosperity and well-being of this country.

While today we celebrate it more as the end of summer and a final weekend before school resumes, we need to remember the sacrifices of those early labor leaders who worked tirelessly for better working conditions, for safety in the workplace and other workers’ rights. We may take these things for granted today, but we have all seen and enjoyed the benefits of their
