In season, from March through June, deliveries will be five days a week, and can be up to 50 hours per week. Must have a cell phone. Bert K. Spengler of Kenly, NC formerly of Langford and Springville NY passed away suddenly, June 20. Son of the late John F. and Helen Spengler. Survived by many siblings, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A longtime employee of Temperature Control Systems Inc., where he was well known. He will be missed by his many Kenly and Wilson friends. “Hell yeah”. Graveside service to be held at St. Martins Cemetery, July 20 at 11 AM. Arrangements by Wentland Funeral Home.

Rose M. Vondell (Ventura) of Hamburg, NY passed away June 21, 2024. Wife of the late Ronald Vondell. Beloved mother of Rene', Raymond, Bobbi and Becky. Survived by her grandchildren; Nichole Thomas, Jennifer Thomas, Ryan (Alexandria) Vondell, Jesse (Callie) Vondell, Alivia Vondell and her great grandchildren; Noah, Easton, Rhett, Reggie, and Lennon. Survived by; Brother Joseph Ventura and Sister Anna Robbins. Sister of the late: Lucy Wiltse/Lamaoreaux, Sam Ventura, Mary Jane Frost, Jeanette Frost, Charles Ventura and Norman Ventura. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews who all loved and laughed with her. Rose's wishes were for her body to be donated to science and her remaining ashes spread to the wind. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service at Churchill Memorial United Methodist Church, 8019 Boston State Road, Hamburg, NY at 10:30am, July 15, 2024 with lunch reception to follow at the church hall.

Sometimes you win if you just show up.
But that’s a hollow kind of victory. The thrill of competition, the camaraderie of team members, the personal challenges are missing in this shallow victory. You might get the trophy, but you get little else out of the experience.
Life is more than that. And living fully involves more than just making an appearance. Living a life that’s full and rich involves celebrating our own unique qualities and embracing all that is out there for us.
To truly capture the precious nature of each moment of our lives we need to be fully focused and intent. Too often we miss the true gifts in our lives because we are distracted, busy with superficial tasks, or not paying attention. When this happens, we may be missing what we need most.
You can win just by showing up, but it’s a much better memory when both teams play with true spirit and purpose.
