“I have never been able to think of the day as one of mourning; I have never quite been able to feel that half-masted flags were appropriate on Decoration Day. I have rather felt that the flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor placed it.We honor them in a joyous, thankful, triumphant commemoration of what they did.”
~Benjamin Harrison
All the flags should be flying -- in memory of those who have died to protect our freedoms and way of life through wars and conflicts around the globe. The members of our armed forces deserve unquestioned support for their dedication… for their willingness to put their personal lives on hold… for their skills and for their belief in what they are doing.
This Memorial Day we remember the fallen and celebrate their lives as we re-dedicate ourselves to peaceful purposes in our world.
