The Eden Varsity Softball team held a food drive at their last regular season home game on Monday, May 15. They also spent time at Shurfine to collect additional food and cash donations. All donations will be given to the Eden/North Collins Food Pantry. News From Southtowns Catholic School
Mrs. Lorrens and Ms. Luna worked on a special craft with the students in their Kindergarten Readiness class to celebrate Earth Day (April 22nd). Each student made a miniature globe to learn about its shape and land vs. water. As a class, they made a statue man made of tin and other recyclables (very fitting considering our Wizard of Oz musical is coming up on May 20th and 21st)

Lessons run from Wednesday, June 28th through August 11th, 8am- 1:30pm. (No Lessons on July 4th).
Lessons are Monday, Wednesday and Friday for beginners and Tuesday and Thursday for advanced swimmers. Times and dates to be determined after testing.

Waterville, Maine: The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced today that SUNY Cobleskill sophomore Michael Masocco, Eden, N.Y., Eden High School, a member of the men’s outdoor track & field team has been named the league’s Field Athlete-ofthe-Week for the week ending April 23, 2023. The sophomore multievent athlete the Fighting Tiger men’s track & field team’s top individual finisher at the 2023 Cortland Classic hosted by SUNY Cortland in Cortland, N.Y. over the weekend placing fourth overall in the Decathlon with a score of 4708 at the meet.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday April 29 and Sunday April 30 when they travel to Waterville, Maine for the 2023 NAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Thomas College, Husson University and the University of MaineFarmington at Coby College’s Alfond Track.
The Faith Bible Baptist Church of Eden, NY has a new Pastor! Christopher Baran was installed on Tuesday, April 11 upon the unanimous vote of the congregation. Pastor Baran replaces Pastor Art Kohl (the founding Pastor of FBBC) upon his retirement after 40 years as Lead Pastor. Pastor Kohl remains on staff at FBBC with the honorary titles of Pastor Emeritus and Pastor at Large. Pastor Baran returned to America with his wife and their four children a few years ago after spending 10 years in the Philippines as missionaries. And how much more hopeful we all feel. Projects are being planned, building is starting. There’s excitement and anticipation in the air as we enjoy the warmer temperatures that herald spring’s arrival.
