Saturday March 9,
2024, members of the Eden Garden Study Club (EGSC) enjoyed the afternoon planting the town’s hanging baskets.
Club members met at Zittel’s greenhouse to plant the soon to be flowering 67 hanging baskets. The baskets will be cared for until late May by Henry’s Gardens, Amos Zittel & Sons Inc., Fernshaw Garden Inc., Kenneth A. Henry Sons, Inc., and Agle’s Farm Market. The EGSC members spent the remainder of the day at the Eden Jr./Sr High School greenhouse, made available through the Eden Central School District, filling pots with soil and planting over 600 plugs which will be transplanted into large sidewalk containers as the plants mature. The EGSC will care for and water the plantings daily until such time the plants are able to withstand the outside elements and adorn the streets of Eden.

Loving father of Shianne Tirado. Brother of Julio V. Tirado Jr., Richard Craig, Julio Angel Tirado and several other brothers and sisters. Eric W. Lindgren of the Cattaraugus Seneca Territory entered into rest suddenly on March 18, 2024 at the age of 46 years. Loving father of Erica, Maxin, Jonas, Asia, Shia, Collette, Bentley, William and the late Heaven Lindgren. Grandfather of Johnnie K. Cornfield, JoRiah, Gracelynn, Hayden and Daviana Lindgren. Beloved son of Susan Lindgren and the late William Lindgren. Grandson of the late James and Geraldine Memmo. Brother of David Santana Sr. Beloved friend of Nicole John. Also survived my many nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Eric was a member of the Seneca Nation wolf clan. Michael Santa Maria
Michael Santa Maria, 72, of Collins, NY passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Mercy Hospital. He was born October 1, 1951 in Springville, NY. He was the son of the late Joseph and Lucille (Lanza) Santa Maria. Michael graduated from North Collins Central School in 1969. While he was there, he excelled at soccer and baseball. He was selected by the Buffalo News for their All-Star teams. He was an avid guitar player and played with several rock and country groups performing at many local venues. He also had a passion for wood carving and stained-glass art. He is survived by brothers Joseph (Candice), Charles (Christine), James (Patti) and sister Cheryl Santa Maria. Michael had a long-term loving relationship with the late Mary Waterman Linde and her daughters Michelle Linde Abbey, Corinna Linde and Brandy Linde Cruz. Michael will be dearly missed by all his friends and family. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00am from the Wentland Funeral Home 10634 Main St. (Rt. 62) North Collins, NY.

Hope. What a wonderful thing! It can lift spirits even when events seem full of despair. It can carry us through difficult times. It is the gift that God gave to each of us on the first Easter Sunday.
Grief had filled the hearts of all those who loved Jesus; they were lost in despair after his crucifixion. But despair turned to joy when they visited his tomb and found it empty; God had given them a precious gift... the gift of hope. God had not abandoned them or forgotten their needs; God did love them.
Each Easter reminds us of the eternal abundance of life in all its forms and the beauty of another spring as promised by God.
