“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.
Praise ye the LORD. ” - Psalm 150

Gabriel Johnson of Laing Funeral Home Honored by ENFDA
Our very own Gabriel G. Johnson, owner of Laing Funeral Home Inc, Eden, was honored at the Erie-Niagara Funeral Directors Associations Past President’s Recognition Ceremony. He was accompanied by family, friends and some of the staff of Laing Funeral Home Inc. to help him celebrate. He gave dedication, countless hours and selfless concentration to bettering funeral service not just within the two counties, but statewide during his Presidency of the Association. Gabriel started off as an ENFDA board member before becoming the Secretary/Treasurer and later President Elect before becoming President. He served two terms as President before handing over the torch. He plans to remain very active by continuing to attend the monthly board meetings as a Past President and an advisor to the ENFDA Board of Directors.

‘Specialist Peter J. Loretto, Jr. Memorial Bridge’ In Tribute To Vietnam War Hero
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) recently hosted a ceremony to dedicate the bridge on State Route 75, which crosses Eighteen Mile Creek in Eden, as the “Specialist Peter J. Loretto, Jr. Memorial Bridge.” The event honored Specialist Peter J. Loretto, Jr., a distinguished Vietnam War veteran and lifelong public servant.
Specialist Loretto, who served in the Army from 1966 to 1968 with the Herc Missile Crew in Germany, was recognized for his extensive contributions both in military and civilian life. He left the service with the rank of specialist 4th Class (SPC4) and devoted his life to public service. Loretto spent 33 years as highway superintendent for the Town of Eden and was a founding member of the Erie County Association of Highway Superintendents. In his roles as president and board member, he was instrumental in establishing mutual aid agreements with other county superintendents. Additionally, he dedicated 48 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Langford-New Oregon Fire Department, where he held various leadership positions, including chief, 1st assistant chief, and 2nd assistant chief.
“His dedication to his country, his town and his community should inspire us all to strive for excellence in our own lives. This bridge will stand as a lasting symbol of his remarkable service and commitment to the values of leadership and selflessness. By naming this bridge in his honor, we celebrate his enduring legacy and remind ourselves of the profound impact one individual can have on their community and beyond.”

Dear Heart of Jesus, in the past I have asked many favors. This time I ask you this special one (mention favor.) Take it dear heart of Jesus and place it within your heart where your father sees it. Then in his merciful eyes, it will become your own favor, not mine. Amen. Say this prayer three times for three days and your favor will be granted. Never been known to fail. Must promise publication of prayer. F. D.

Most holy Apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases, of things despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help, where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolation and help of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings and that I may prasie God with you and all the elect forever. I promise. O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you. Amen. P.S.

“The longest journey of any person is the journey inward.” --Dag Hammarskjold
We are all constantly traveling, even if we never venture far from home. We are seeking the essence of who we are meant to be. A rare few know from birth what they want to be and where they want to go in this life. But for most of us it takes a long time to find the path and we stumble along.
We start off thinking we know what we want, but get detoured by other ideas that we follow for awhile.... then we realize that wasn’t what we wanted and start off again in another direction. We meet new friends, learn new things, go new places. And everything we do, or try, becomes a part of us.
Whether you stumble or not, the journey is important and along the way there are wonderful “accidents” that should not be missed!
