Meet Evie

Evie was diagnosed with Autism at a young age, and animals have always been a high interest topic for her. Today, Evie has become a walking encyclopedia of animal knowledge, and loves learning and sharing all that she can about di erent species of animals. All of our featured designs are focused on animals of Evie's choosing, and she has a lot more animals she plans on adding to our line in the future! Evie has donated over $1800 to animal conservation programs, and we have recycled over 35,000 water bottles into our shirts!

Eco Evie's mission is to promote our world's wellbeing, making garments entirely from recycled water bottles, and donating a portion of each sale to conservation e orts. Help us help our earth, one water bottle at a time!

Hippos

Hippopotamus are the second largest animal on earth (the rst is the elephant!) and can weigh as much as 7,000 pounds (or 3 small cars!!). Hippos spend a ton of time in the water, although they can't actually swim! They allow their bodies to sink to the bottom of the rivers and lakes they hang out in, and then jump o the bottom to propell their huge bodies back up to the surface! Hippos can have an attitude towards other animals, predators, and humans, but they are herbivores, so its all salads for these animals! There are only 2 species of hippo, the common hippo which is in vulnerable status, and the pigmy hippo which is in endangered status. Illegal hunting and habitat loss are their 2 biggest threats today.

Bats

Bats are one of the most misunderstood mammals, and are seeing declining numbers across the globe. Bats make up 1/5 of all mammal species on earth, with over 1400 species worldwide. In the US alone, 12 of the 45 species are endangered, and in total there are over 200 species in 60 countries in endangered, critically endangered, or vulnerable statuses according to the IUCN red list.

We want to help spread the word that bats aren't bad! Bats are a natural pesticide, making them friends to all farmers. Besides their big appetite for the bugs that bother us, bats are also incredible pollinators, and contribute to pollinating hundreds of varieties of fruits including bananas, mangoes, and even the agave plant (that one is for the adults ;)

Frog

There are over 5,000 known species of frogs on every continent but Antarctica, and nearly 1/3 of them are threatened or extinct. Frogs are essential to a healthy ecosystem, and are an indicator species- their presence literally indicates the health of the ecosystem. That's why preserving their home now is more important than ever!

Flamingo

Flamingos have been protected since 1918 under the Migratory Bird Act, but that doesn't eliminate all threats including changes to their habits as well as human and environmental changes. Our pink friends get thier gorgeous color from the food they eat (while upside down!). In fabulous amingo fashion, a group of amingos is called a amboyance!

Black Panther

Black panthers, or the "ghosts of the forest", are melanistic jaguars (Central/South America) or leopards (Africa/Asia) and still retain their spotted skin. While their fur is black, you can still see their spots in the sunlight. Only about 6% of the leopard/jaguar population are black panthers. Black panthers are excellent climbers and swimmers, have amazing hearing and eyesight, and can leap up to 20 feet!

Black panthers are in Near Threatened Status, meaning they are on their way to an o cal Endangered status if numbers continue to decline. While there are many threats to this animal including poaching, their biggest threat is habitat loss where their jungle and forest homes are being destroyed by human activity.

Axolotl

Axolotls (ACK-suh-LAH-tuhl) are paedomorphic salamanders native to Lake Xochimilco in Mexico City. Axolotls are most closely related to tiger salamanders, except that they maintain a permanent youth in that they never complete metamorphosis. Their adorable frills that frame their face are their gills, which most salamanders shed when they transition to land. Axolotls have lungs too, and can breathe through their skin!

Sea Turtles are much loved by animal enthustiasts everywhere, and they need our help now more than ever. Our shirt design has 7 turtles on it, representing the 7 species of sea turtle- Loggerhead, Leatherback, Kemp's Ridley, Olive Ridley, Green, Hawksbill, and Flatback. Although these species live in all around the world, there are common threats that are endangering them- plastic pollution, accidental catching, climate change, and poaching.

Monarch Butter ies are amazing creatures, and yet their numbers continue to decrease because of climate change and habitat loss. Monarchs migrate from as far north as parts of Canada and all throughout the US all the way to Mexico every year, pollinating along the way.

Vaquita Porpoise

The Vaquita is the most endangered marine mammal there is. Native to the northern part of the Gulf of Mexico, their decline has been so rapid, experts believe there could be just 10 left in the wild. Vaquita are the smallest of all types of porpoise, around 5 feet in length on avereage, and frequently become tangled in shing nets meant for other types of sea creatures like tuna. Vaquita do not do well in capitivity, so any conservation e orts must happen in its natural habitat, making it much more di cult to help them.

Polar Bear

Polar bears are iconic to the Arctic, and while at the top of the food chain, face many threats today. Polar bears are in Vulnerable status, and their numbers are projected to decline by 30% by the year 2050. As we watch arctic ice vanish before our eyes, polar bears and other animals that rely on the ice as part of their land area will be forced into much smaller land masses, or be pushed into human-dwelling areas.

Giraffe

Make sure to stick your neck out for this incredible animal in our gira e hoodie. Gira e numbers have been silently decreasing for years due to poaching and habitat loss, and its important we shed light on this iconic species.

Pangolin

Known as the "scaly anteater", pangolins are the most tra cked mammal in the world.

Grevy’s Zebra

Show o your wild side with our Grevy's Zebra hooded shirt. Zebras were hunted for their beautiful striped skins for many years, and despite hunting bans to protect them, they are still in endangered status today mostly due to habitat loss. Eastern Indigo Snake

Give your Eastern Indigo Snake shirt a home and help us ght habitat loss for this species. This snake is native to southern parts of the US, and is the longest snake in North America at lengths between 5-7 ft long!

Tiger's stripes are unique to each individual, and their stripes even carry over on to their skin! Tiger numbers are rising again, but they are not out of the woods just yet. There are currently less than 4,000 tigers left in the wild across all 6 remaining subspecies, with 3 subspecies already extinct- the Javan tiger, the Bali Tiger, and Caspian tiger.
