Dear Parents, carers and all in the Chessington community
Welcome to our Open Evening newsletter, I couldn’t have been prouder of our school last night as we welcomed over 400 people through our doors for our Open Evening
Nearly 200 students were excellent ambassadors as tour guides and subject helpers and they did a cracking job
The atrium was transformed and we were treated to outstanding performances from various school bands, our Year 11 dancers and also the cast of our school production of The Addams Family - I am so excited to see the performance in March as it is already awesome!
Each department in the school showcased some excellent and engaging activities which ranged from a giant grid reference in Geography to The Chessington Apothecary in History to making chocolate tiffin and rainbow couscous in Catering The PE department had multiple different sports on offer that students could participate in even in the rain! In Science Mr Power blew them away (nearly literally) with some explosive experiments.
We have received so much positive feedback but this comment encapsulated the evening very well:
“The atmosphere was inviting and had a buzz of excitement The students spoke so positively and passionately about their school experience at Chessington There is a lot to love about your school and I am so glad we visited.”
We also were able to show our brand new promotional video which you will be able to find here. The students and staff involved were an absolute credit to the school.
I look forward to seeing Year 7, 12 and 13 parents on Thursday 3rd for Parents Information Evening, some very valuable sessions that shouldn’t be missed.
A reminder for Yr 8, 9, 10 and 11 parents that your Information Evening is the following week on Thursday 10th October.
As always, please do contact me with any questions or feedback
Wishing you a lovely weekend
