Chef Feenie is one of Canada’s most recognized and acclaimed chefs. His interest in cooking began during a highschool exchange program in Europe. He attended Dubrulle Culinary Institute in Vancouver and then studied with some of the top chefs in B.C., the United States and Europe. Both nationally and internationally Feenie has also developed a reputation as a chef-consultant. He opened Accolade Restaurant in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Toronto and undertook the monumental task of restructuring the dining experience at Le Regence in the Hotel Plaza Athene in Manhattan, pulling the restaurant "right out of the doldrums" according to the New York Times . He is often called upon to represent Canada, traveling as an Ambassador for Canadian and British Columbia food products and wines, and sharing Vancouver's culinary talents with the rest of the world.

Naz moved his abilities from the restaurant scene in the late 90s to focussing on educating consumers about food and the wonderful meals they can easily create on their barbecue. His passion for grilling demonstrates his knowledge and enthusiasm by providing outdoor chefs —whether novice or seasoned grillers—with helpful maintenance tips and applications of the grill. Naz has a skilful way of simplifying the whole grilling process by getting the consumer to understand their grill and realize that it is all about control and technique, and that makes him deserving of the title “Grilling Expert”. He is currently involved with many promotional events and grilling demonstrations where he continues to promote WEBER grills, one of his favourite brands of barbecues.

Anthony Sedlak Anthony L. Sedlak is the host of Food Network’s The Main, airing weekdays at 4pm PT.

Ricardo is not just a cook, but a man with a deep passion for communication. Like his recipes, he has presence. In addition to his daily cooking show on the CBC's French-language network-the unprecedented smash hit Ricardo, now in its seventh season-he's now starting the third season of his English-language program, Ricardo and Friends, seen on Canada's popular Food Network.

He was born in Prince George, British Columbia and grew up in North Vancouver. At the age of 13 he obtained his first job as a busboy at Lupins Café, one of the restaurants atop Grouse Mountain, in exchange for a snowboard pass to the resort. Very quickly Anthony discovered his love for food and started working as a line cook. At 15, Anthony became the youngest cook at on the mountain to be proficient on all stations in the restaurant. Next he enjoyed great success at the resort’s flagship dining room, The Observatory, working his way up from 2nd cook to 1st cook and then Chef de Partie, all the while completing the Culinary Arts Program at Carson Graham Secondary School in North Vancouver. Later, he completed his BC Chefs’ Apprenticeship through Vancouver Community College.

Ricardo is deeply involved with children's issues. He is a spokesman for La Tablée des Chefs, a non-profit organization that provides cooking classes and summer camp stays for underprivileged youth. To Ricardo, it's a profoundly important mission: he believes that learning to cook and eat well is the key to being independent and building a better future.

In March 2006, Anthony represented Canada at the Hans Bueschken World Junior Chef Challenge in Auckland, New Zealand. Later that year Anthony was one of six participants selected to compete in Food Network’s Superstar Chef Challenge. Anthony was a natural in front of the camera as well as in the kitchen, and he won the competition.

The central focal point of EAT! Vancouver is, without a doubt, the Food Network Celebrity Cooking Stage where Food Network Canada's superstars Anthony Sedlak, Ricardo Larrivée, and Chef Rob Feenie will dazzle the audience with their amazing talent, wit and humor. The Food Network Celebrity Stage will also present Chef Naz Cavallaro who will be demonstrating the art of grilling and smoking on Weber barbecues and smokers. B.C. Chefs' Association Culinary Salon Cooking and Chocolate Competition The BC Chefs Association is proud to host a Culinary Show and Competition. The Competition is open to all culinarians wishing to showcase their talent (prior registration required). The Show is open to the public and the media, bringing valued exposure to the Industry and Association. Also a Chocolate Competition is open to all culinary professional and students. Entries will be judged on technical skills, techniques, creativity and showcasing of the theme. Black Box Cooking Citytv's Master Chef Competition

The Bite of Vancouver Restaurant Pavilion While visiting EAT! Vancouver, you will discover the The Bite of Vancouver, where Vancouver restaurants will be tantalizing your taste buds with appy-size offerings of their regular menu selections.

Black box cooking competitions are considered the most challenging of culinary competitions because the food content of the boxes is not revealed prior to the event. The pressure of competing is compounded by the unknown ingredients. The chef has to accept the challenge of devising a main course from the Black Box by using only the foods the box contains. Once open, it's up to the chef's creative talents to come up with an innovative idea and prepare it in the 35 minute time allotted. Competitors are judged by culinary professionals, on composition, creativity, correct preparations, service practicality, taste, proper utilization of ingredients, presentation and consistency. Chefs will compete and advance to the final rounds with the showdown taking place on Sunday, May 24th, 2009 at 3:45 pm. Mr. David McIlwraith will repr ise his role as Master of Ceremonies and Citytv program hosts will be on hand to act as celebrity master of ceremonies and offer lively commentaries.

Here you will find the owners, chefs and service staff of some of Vancouver's favourite restaurants serving up a dizzying array of cuisine, both local and international. It's your one and only opportunity to visit numerous restaurants in one afternoon or evening, taste their menu selections for a mere $1 to $4 per sample, study their entire menu, talk to the chef and ask questions from the experts.

Payment for these products is made by way of 'Bite/Taste Tickets' visitor may purchase from our 'Bite/Taste Ticket' Booth located by the entrance of the show. Although many exhibitors offer free samples or tastes of their products, in order to obtain larger portions, again the Bite/Taste tickets may be required. Tickets are 50 cents each and are sold in a sheet of 20 for $10 or a half sheet for $5.

Wine, Beer & Spirits Tasting Pavilion The Grapes & Hops Presentation Stage The Grapes & Hops Presentation Stage, located right inside the Tasting Pavilion and hosted by Vancouver's own Wine Diva, Daenna Van Mulligan, will feature an impressive line-up of seminars, food pairings and wine tastings with celebrities drawn from the world of wine and beer plus culinary and mixology experts.

In Canada, Daenna has become the go to person for on-line wine knowledge. Daenna Van Mulligen lives in Vancouver where she works as a wine writer and wine educator. She is an accredited sommelier who thrives on educating the public with her deviously inspirational and humorous approach to wine hoping to share her knowledge and increase consumer consumption while decreasing wine snobbery.

Just Here For The Beer (JHFTB) is a Vancouver based beer education and consulting company. JHFTB has been teaching beer tasting and education classes for the past 4 years at UBC, local community centres and private seminars. During this time period JHFTB has also organized beer festivals and have been guest speakers at major industry events and at local community colleges.
