MIXED-INCOME HOUSING

IN 2015

economic success made possible The East Lake Foundation worked with the Atlanta Housing Authority and residents to develop The Villages of East Lake 20 years ago to replace the violent and dilapidated East Lake Meadows public housing project. Today, The Villages of East Lake is a safer and well-maintained apartment complex that serves a mixed-income population in 542 homes. The Foundation’s Resident and Community Support Program (RCSP) at The Villages of East Lake provides residents with the services and resources needed to make economic stability possible.

Rosemarie Brown The Villages of East Lake Resident “There was a time when I felt lost in my job. I knew I wasn’t happy with my current employer and I was looking for a way out and into something that would make me happier. The Resident and Community Support Program’s career development series provided me the opportunity to brush up on my skills, improve my resume and get over my interviewing jitters.”

The support I received from RCSP was very instrumental in helping me get my new job at Wells Fargo. Rosemarie Brown

Akua Taylor Former Resident of The Villages of East Lake “RCSP was a great resource to me while living in The Villages of East Lake. I always wanted to own a home, a goal instilled by my parents when I was young. RCSP provided me with homeownership information and the support I needed to keep me on track towards that goal. I’m thrilled that at the end of July 2015, I closed on my first home!”

I found the various programs and services to be informative and specifically targeted to the advancement of residents. Akua Taylor
