Winter resort for famous, bold and royal Το χειμερινο θερεΤρο Των επωνΥμων και εσΤεμμενων Στο καντόνι της Βέρνης, δηλαδή στο γερμανόφωνη Ελβετία, την ευρύτερη περιοχή Gstaad-Saanenalnd συνθέτουν δέκα χωριουδάκια-σαλέ. Το αστέρι της γειτονιάς είναι το Γκστάαντ σε υψόμετρο περίπου 1.050 μ. Το μέγεθός του είναι αντιστρόφως ανάλογο με τα σημαντικά πολιτιστικά και αθλητικά γεγονότα που φιλοξενεί. Ο κεντρικός του δρόμος Promenade είναι ίσως ο πιο μικρός και συνάμα διάσημος εμπορικός δρόμος της χώρας, με γκουρμέ εστιατόρια, καφέ, μαγαζιά και γκαλερί. Απαλλαγμένο από αυτοκίνητα, το χωριό έχει διατηρήσει τον παραδοσιακό του χαρακτήρα, με ξύλινα σαλέ πνιγμένα στα λουλούδια και πολυτελή ξενοδοχεία, ενώ προσφέρει και μία από τις πιο εκτεταμένες πίστες σκι στις Άλπεις.

The wider area of Gstaad-Saanenald in the canton of Bern, that is the German-speaking part of Switzerland, is comprised of ten hamlets – chalets. Located on an altitude of 1050 meters, Gstaad is the “star” of the area. Its size is inversely proportional to that of the cultural and athletic events it hosts. Its central avenue, Promenade, is perhaps the shortest and at the same time, the most famous central avenue of the country, featuring gourmet restaurants, cafes, shops and galleries. Free of cars, the village has retained its traditional character, with wooden chalets full of flowers and luxury hotels, while offering one of the most extensive pistes in the Alps.
