At E-ACT West Walsall Academy, we pride ourselves on ensuring that every student ‘strives for excellence’.

We want to develop our students into good, kind, creative and ambitious young people through good quality academic provision and seeking out opportunities to excel and develop their cultural capital. As the headteacher, I have a passionate belief that every student deserves the very best education, no matter who they are or where they are from.

The staff at the academy are incredible! They genuinely care about our students and the families we serve and go above and beyond to ensure that every student receives support. It is important that as an academy, we develop the best practices to effectively support our students, so they always feel both physically and emotionally safe.

In our extremely positive recent Ofsted report, our academy is recognised for the strength of the education provided and indicates we are heading in the right direction on our journey to excellence.

Y L I M A F T C A OUR E We are proud to be one of 28 E-ACT academies in England. ​ Our community includes over 18,000 pupils and 2,300 teachers and non-teaching professionals across the country. ​ As an E-ACT academy we share ideas with other academies in the trust in ways other schools may not be able to. Our pupils and staff also feel part of something much bigger.

We have a great partnership with our family academy E-ACT Willenhall Academy who are a short distance away.

Student Voice At E-ACT West Walsall Academy our students play an active role in how the academy works. We have a student council, safeguarding ambassadors and a junior leadership team allowing students to gain invaluable leadership experience and contribute to decisions directly affecting the academy.

I work as a peer mentor and really enjoy the opportunity as I had a positive experience with my mentor when I was in Year 11 and want to be able to support in the same way.

Not only do we focus on academic excellence, we also work with different associations to help develop particular skillsets for each and every student.

We are proud to work with a social mobility charity with a mission to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become confident, independent, and resilient so they can lead the lives they want.

We work with Elevate Education that delivers study skills workshops and seminars designed to achieve behavioural change amongst students.

Offering small group tuition to students from deprived backgrounds and work with them to motivate and explore key learning in a range of different ways.

We have a partnership with The Talent Foundry which aims to increase social mobility by helping young people from underserved backgrounds discover what they are amazing at, develop valuable new employment skills and take that first step into the world of work.

We work with The Talent Tap - inspiring ambitious 16–18 year-old students and ultimately matching them with prestigious and motivating employers.

OUR COMMUNITY WORK Our academy works closely with local businesses and charities to support our local community. Recent community events include: Grand Iftar - for all students and parents to participate in, irrespective of their religious and cultural beliefs. It highlighted the inclusivity and diversity that E-ACT West Walsall Academy is proud of.

Summer Bazaar - to bring our community together to enjoy cultural music, food, and performances from our students.
