TO E-ACT WILLENHALL ACADEMY WELCOME

I was lucky enough to join E-ACT Willenhall Academy in December 2023. I am excited about the next few years and the journey the school is on.

This is the ideal time for students to join a school that is going places, although we are likely to be significantly over-subscribed again next year.

Since joining I have addressed issues which I felt were holding back our students from being able to thrive. If you are keen to join a school that will relentlessly pursue success and be unapologetic about expecting hard work, then we are well worth a look.

We are a comprehensive academy and welcome all sorts of students, we pride ourselves on our community spirit and the welcome that we offer.

Please feel free to come and see us in action.

OUR E-ACT FAMILY

We are proud to be one of 38 E-ACT academies in England.

Our community includes over 26,000 pupils and 3,500 teachers and non-teaching professionals across the country.

As an E-ACT academy we share ideas with other academies in the trust in ways other schools may not be able to. Our pupils and staff also feel part of something much bigger.

We have a great partnership with our family academy E-ACT West Walsall Academy who are nearby.

OUR VALUES & ETHOS

Our values represent the future. We encourage our learners to recognise their own potential and foster a steadfast determination to achieve by taking responsibility for their own learning.

At E-ACT Willenhall Academy we have three core values:

Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders Today No One Left Behind Committed To Our Community

These underpin everything we do.

LEARN WITH US

THINK BIG, THINK BETTER

Our personalised curriculum includes a wide variety of opportunities to both reflect students’ identities and broaden their world view.

At E-ACT Willenhall Academy, we will expose your child to a broad range of subjects and experiences to help them find out where their passion lies. Our curriculum includes the following subjects:

Opening minds, opening doors

Our goal is to stimulate a love of learning for life and develop the confidence and skills essential for our students’ future. In partnership with universities and the business world, we will help your child to create and develop a plan to achieve their goals.

At E-ACT Willenhall Academy our students are at the heart of the academy, that’s why we have student ambassadors throughout the academy to ensure our students have a voice. Our student ambassadors represent each department and form a link between the community and the academy. Students learn important skills such as debating, leadership and teamwork.

I support younger students by showing them that focus and drive is key when aspiring to achieve good grades and prepare for life after school.

Year 9 student

We are proud to work with different associations to help develop our students personal skills and experiences. We value learning outside the curriculum, through educational visits and our co-curriculum clubs.

Darlaston Food Bank, part of Black Country Food Bank, a charity that is close to all our hearts, as we know many of our student have accessed this support. Darlaston Food Bank have been our main charity this year, and will continue to be across the next year. Our student ambassadors are passionate about supporting these as much as we can.

We work really closely with West Walsall Academy to ensure our students have a progression from Year 7 through to Year 13 in a supportive environment that they are familiar with. This is a relatively new partnership but one that is going from strength to strength. This is important as we feel together the academies can offer our students the very best education available.

Community and Advisory Space

Our Community and Advisory Space aims to increase opportunities for the whole community to develop their learning, health, well-being and enjoyment. This is achieved through the organisation of adult learning courses, linking with local community clubs/charities and hiring our facilities at evenings and weekends. We strive to be at the centre of our community and can only achieve this through community partnerships.

Other organsiations we work with are:

Our community leaders

I was really excited to be able to train in mental health first aid. I’m passionate about students and their learning so I’m really pleased to be able to add the extra support that most students need at some point in order to reach their full potential.
