Camouflaged Nature

This project takes place in Oare Gun powder Park in close distance of Faversham. The narrative of the project is about a scientist (herpetologist) whose hobby is glassblowing and he is trying to break the conventional bad image of the animals he works with - snakes, reptiles, etc. The proposal space is a space for him where he can conduct his work, and space for ordinary people where they live, but can also interact with him and his work. This is part of the concept modelling stage in which I was drawn to ideas like camouflaging, nature and its connection to humans.

Japanese Art Studio

This project takes place in Kyoto, Japan and it is very much connected also to environmental and climate strategies in buildings according to specific loca tion. The building is inspired by traditional Japanese architecture and is also influenced a lot by the book ‘In Praise of Shadows’. The model is in scale 1:20. This is a proposal studio space for art ist Louise Bourgeois who is creating sculptures and installations. She is very much famous for her spider sculptures. That is why in this proposal in the ceiling and the windows imitation of spider webs could be noticed.

Furniture Piece

This project is a furniture piece proj ect. It all started from quick collaging of three objects I use in my bedtime routine - my teddy bear, my lipbalm and a book. The proposal adresses the day and night life. Half of the furniture piece acts as a regular bookself and the other one is focused on my personal night routine. I first 3D modeled my idea in Rhino and then built it. The materials I have used are wood and perspex. In the middle of the perspex I put recycled materials which I painted in different colours so that before I go to bed I watch them and dream.

Plaster Explorations

This is a stage in my current project in which I again was experimenting through concept modeling. This time however what I was using was plaster and different moulding materials like sand, sugar, gloves, etc. After a work shop with material design artist Ella Bulley I started applying unusual techniques and tried to achieve the mean ings of different oppositions like ‘fantasy-reality’. I was also very inspired from the movie and novel ‘Dune’. Although very abstract I loved this experementation since I was working a lot with fluidity and texture.

Tea Coasters

This is very much a self-initiated proj ect which I started not long ago and these are just the initial iterations. These are tea coasters which I designed myself and gave as a Christmas present to my mum. The designs are inspired from my Bulgarian heritage and are showing something that is known as ‘shevica’. The different ‘shevica’ have different meanings and bring various fortunes with them. I did the design on Illustrator and then used MDF sheet to laser cut. In the future I am planning on doing different sets of tableware and refining the designs.
