2020 has been a difficult year. But hard times often help us appreciate the people, places and things that matter most. And in these times, it is more important than ever to focus on the local businesses that help our community thrive. So it is an honor for The Durango Herald to present the winners of the annual Best Of Durango & La Plata County.

In July, we asked readers and residents of the Four Corners to consider nominating local businesses that provide top-notch service in categories from automotive to health and wellness.

After three weeks of nominations, readers placed the top nominees on the ballot list. Those nominees competed for the top three places in the reader’s choice contest.

The results determined the people and places featured in this section deserve our recognition. And we want to extend our appreciation to them for their support as well. While we typically gather for a fun evening of socializing to celebrate our winners, we realize that hosting the annual Best Of Recognition Party would be inappropriate during the pandemic.

To celebrate the local business owners and keep our community safe, The Durango Herald will present each

business that placed in the top three with a special Winner’s Package.
