BEAUTIFUL GLOUCESTER COUNTY There are few places in Virginia more historic -- or watery -than Gloucester County, with the Rappahannock, Piankatank, and the James rivers, the Mobjack Bay, and the Chesapeake Bay leading to the ocean. "Some prefer the estuaries with the birds and wildlife, others want views or sand beaches, some want deep water and a protected harbor for their yachts and sailboats, she says, adding, "Some places have it all.
