Summer Fête 2024

The Friends of HCH Summer Fete in June was a fabulous success, bringing together our community for a day of fun and celebration. A huge thank you to the Friends of HCH and all the staff who helped organise this fantastic event, as well as to all the families who attended. From exhilarating funfair rides to the messy magic of the Ultimate Slime Experience workshop, there truly was something for everyone, and we're so excited for next year!

Rome Classics trip

At Hampton Court House, 35 Senior School students enriched their History and Latin studies with a four-day trip to Rome, exploring the St. Sebastiano catacombs, Baths of Caracalla, Colosseum, and Vatican. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of Roman culture, boosted travel confidence and sharpened critical thinking—making history come alive beyond the classroom.

Isle of Wight trip Y7

Our recent Year 7 trip to Little Canada on the Isle of Wight was packed with excitement! 29 students and four teachers set off for an unforgettable adventure, starting with a coach and ferry ride. Once there, students enjoyed activities like canoeing, archery, axe throwing, the giant swing, climbing, trapeze and fencing—making it an unforgettable trip!

Sixth Form London trip

Year 12 and 13 History, Economics, and Politics students recently visited the British Museum and the Houses of Parliament in London. At the museum, they explored exhibits tied to their studies, like the Money and Enlightenment galleries. Later, they toured Parliament, visiting the House of Commons, the House of Lords, and the Sovereign's entrance. They learned about parliamentary processes and the roles of elected representatives. The day wrapped up with students forming their own political parties, complete with leaders and policy ideas.

Black History Month

For Black History Month, we were excited to welcome the Masai Cultural Arts group for workshops with prep students. This African arts organization led interactive sessions in storytelling, dance, drumming, and arts and crafts.

Mid-Autumn festival

We celebrated the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival with students from Year 5 to Year 13, who crafted beautiful lanterns outdoors, creating a festive atmosphere. The Chinese club practiced paper cutting in rabbit shapes, while Years 7 to 11 Mandarin students shared festival legends and tasted mooncakes, a symbol of unity that resonates with our school community.

HCH Community Garden wins level 5 award

We’re incredibly proud to announce that our Community Garden at Hampton Court House has been awarded the 2024 Level 5 School Garden Award from the Royal Horticultural Society. The highest level possible! Just two years since its creation, this space has grown into a shared haven for parents, children and teachers, filled with fruits, vegetables and pollinator-friendly plants With sustainable practices and reused materials at its core, it also provides a tranquil space for wildlife and students.

LabelFrancÉducation renewal

We are delighted to announce that the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has renewed the LabelFrancEducation accreditation for Hampton Court House for a further three years. This quality seal, first established in 2012, is a mark of excellence in French bilingual education, granted only to schools that meet the highest standards in their bilingual programmes. This renewal reaffirms our commitment to providing exceptional French bilingual teaching and connects us to a national and global network of outstanding schools. It’s a proud moment for HCH as we continue to prepare our students for an increasingly globalised world.

Camp HCH

Camp HCH was a fantastic success! Under a stunning sunset, students set up colorful tents and enjoyed activities like table tennis, football, and mocktails. After a delicious BBQ by Chef Giuseppe, glowsticks lit the night as our Year 10 band (Noah, Max, Lily, and Beck) performed, followed by a guest band that got everyone dancing. Students left Saturday with unforgettable memories!

Beyond the Classroom Clubs

Hampton Court House offers a wide range of clubs that let students explore interests outside the classroom, from active pursuits like Fencing, TaeKwonDo, and Football to creative outlets in Pottery and Music, as well as strategic thinking in Chess. Recently introduced clubs, including Debating, Sci-Fi and Fantasy, Numeracy in Economics, Young Reporters, and Political Thinking, add even more options, supporting skills in public speaking, imaginative discussion, practical math, journalism, and understanding current events. This variety allows students to develop new skills, connect with peers, and dive deeper into areas they’re passionate about.

Spooky Season

Halloween arrived at HCH and our beautiful building provided a perfect backdrop for all the spooky decorations, the beautifully carved pumpkins for our competition and the amazing costumes of both our teachers and students. That was just the beginning of a spooktacular day filled with spooky treats and cakes, party games, a Prep and Senior disco as well as Monster movies. The energy and enthusiasm really makes Halloween one of the most loved days to be at HCH.

Fireworks Display

A wonderful evening was had by many families at our HCH Fireworks event. A record attendance of 1500 people were treated to an incredible performance as an amazing array of fireworks with beautiful colours lit up the night sky to a musical backdrop. Guests started the evening by enjoying something to eat from our food trucks while they took in the beauty of Hampton Court House building by night. Two cold bars and a coffee and hot chocolate station run by our fantastic Friends of HCH ensured that no-one went thirsty on the night. There was even a spinning teacups ride and glowsticks for the little ones. Then it was time to sit back and watch a fantastic Fireworks show which was surely one of the best in Surrey. A great opportunity for our current and potential new families to visit us and enjoy the beauty of HCH by night
