Preparing for Life Programme

Hello and welcome! I’m Emily, Head Student at Hampton Court House It’s a pleasure to introduce you to our Sixth Form, a place where the journey is about so much more than A Levels it’s about becoming the kind of confident, curious and compassionate young adult who’s prepared for life beyond sixth form.
Here, you’ll join a community that encourages personal growth as much as academic success It is your chance to take control of your future in a place that truly sees you At HCH, learning goes way beyond the classroom yes, you’ll study A Levels in subjects you love in small classes with brilliant teachers, but you’ll also focus on your wellbeing, discover new passions, lead, and make a real impact.
This brochure is focused all on our Preparing for Life programme Built around six key pillars Academic Excellence, Physical Health, Mental Wellbeing, Cultural Literacy, Leadership and Community so you grow not just as a student, but as a person. In 2025, the programme was nationally recognised with the Talk Education Award for Innovation in Education, with judges commenting “the programme helps equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the real world” I am so proud to be part of a Sixth Form that prioritises our personal development and recognises its importance, as well as our academic success.
If you ’ re excited about being empowered to lead your own path, collaborate with like minded students and make a real difference beyond the classroom, you’ll feel at home here This is Sixth Form reimagined: a place where education is deeply personal, future-facing, and entirely bespoke.
If you ’ re someone who wants to work hard, be heard, and shape the world around you, I couldn’t recommend it more

MENTAL HEALTH
Positive mental health enables us to thrive both academically and personally, so we prioritise this within our community. You’ll learn how to take positive action, becoming more self aware, learning how to improve your mental health and how to support others.

ACADEMIC
With our supportive and inspiring approach, as well as our excellent subject specialist teachers, you’ll thrive both in your studies and as a person — just like many of our students who progress to top institutions such as Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.

CULTURAL LITERACY
We provide regular opportunities for our young people to develop cultural capital and academic curiosity beyond the classroom, equipping you with the necessary skills and confidence to engage in any topic to become a more interesting young person with broader horizons.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
At HCH Sixth Form, you will benefit from a tailor-made fitness and weights programme run by specialist trainers. Physical health promotes good mental health and strength based training has been proven to increase concentration and academic outcomes.

LEADERSHIP
COMMUNITY
You’ll be part of a community where giving back really matters. We’ll encourage you to recognise the positive impact you can make through volunteering, charity work, and contributing to both our school and the wider community. At HCH, we believe that privilege must go hand in hand with compassion.
You’re stepping into an exciting, competitive world filled with challenges and opportunities — and we’ll make sure you’re ready for it. Through personalised coaching, you’ll develop leadership strengths which will facilitate others to be the best they can be, explore your passions, discover what drives you and gain the confidence to shape your own future.

Positive mental health strengthens your connection with others and deepens your understanding of yourself. Through developing self-awareness and self-efficacy, you’ll be better equipped to manage both academic demands and leadership challenges - and contribute positively to your community.
Cultural Literacy is a powerful driver of social mobility. By engaging with diverse cultural opportunities, you will gain confidence, curiosity and broaden academic and personal horizons. This helps you become an informed, interesting young person with the skills to connect and network widely.
