After countless hours of campaigning and millions of dollars spent, candidates for the 2008 presidential election faced the largest test of the trail last night—Super Tuesday. For senior Bronwyn Lewis, a desire to help govern Duke as Young Trustee stems from having fully surrendered to the Duke experience. “In my application [for Young Trustee], I wrote that I feel like I have absolutely ‘lived and breathed Duke University during my time here,’” Lewis said. “In my academics, my involvement and my personal life, I have soaked up a deep-seated—yet far from uncritical—pride in the University that I count among my strongest qualifications.” A double major in political science and Spanish, Lewis said the question ofDuke’s identity and institutional potential has driven much of her undergraduate experience.
