Let’s Drive QUEENSLAND

REDLANDS COAST

Just 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD Peel Island (Teerk Roo Ra National Park)

Spanning the sparkling waters of southern Moreton Bay, Redlands Coast is a region of naturally wonderful villages and islands, each with its own personality, adventures and treasures. Get back to nature and wind your way through the hinterland’s many bushland tracks and trails which are home to koalas, goannas, glossy black cockatoos, wallabies, owls and much more. Or explore Queensland’s award-winning winery, Sirromet, tucked between the rolling hills with views across the region and out to the bay. Make your way towards the 335km of Redlands coastline to discover diverse villages, a relaxed café culture, waterfront restaurants, hidden bars, and Queensland’s oldest licensed pub, the Grand View Hotel. For a slower pace, simply enjoy a picnic at one of the many Redlands Coast parks that overlook Moreton Bay. For those keen to enjoy the water, there are plenty of fishing spots and activities – from stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking to sailing and surfing. You might want to catch a wave on the world’s second largest sand island, North Stradbroke Island

(Minjerribah), where you can discover pristine beaches and go four-wheel driving. Feel the spirit of Quandamooka Country and take an Aboriginal cultural walk to hear sacred stories dating back more than 21,000 years. In the cooler months, Minjerribah serves up some of the best land-based whale watching in Australia – so jump on a ferry to enjoy some breathtaking scenery from the headland of Point Lookout. Continue the island experience with a trip to Coochiemudlo Island (Goochie Mudlo) and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands – Macleay (Jencommercha), Karragarra, Lamb (Ngudooroo) and Russell (Canaipa). Wander through wetlands and conservation areas, browse local galleries, play barefoot bowls, swim in the bay or simply delight in the peace and tranquility of island life.
