The guide is an extension of the highly successful Wot’s On In Queensland brand which, for over 12 years, promoted Queensland’s unique and varied experiences from events, festivals, markets and roads less travelled through the Wot’s On publications across Australia.

Spanning the sparkling waters of southern Moreton Bay, Redlands Coast is a region of naturally wonderful villages and islands, each with its own personality, adventures and treasures.

Get back to nature and wind your way through the hinterland’s many bushland tracks and trails which are home to koalas, goannas, glossy black cockatoos, wallabies, owls and much more. Or explore Queensland’s award-winning winery, Sirromet, tucked between the rolling hills with views across the region and out to the bay.

BRISBANE VALLEY RAIL TRAIL This is adventure - Somerset style Toogoolawah Station

This is no highway or byway. It certainly isn’t a road less travelled.

The 161km Brisbane Valley Rail Trail stretches from Wulkuraka to Yarraman, taking in historic towns and the heritage listed Lockyer Creek Bridge and Yimbun Railway Tunnel.

to Linville (7km), Fernvale to Lowood (8km) and Harlin to Moore (13km). More rigorous routes include Blackbutt to Yarraman (19km), Wulkuraka to Fernvale (23km) and Coominya to Esk (24km).

The trail was named Public Works Project of the Year at the 2019 Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia Awards for Excellence, putting the South East Queensland region of Somerset on the world stage. It’s a mecca for mountain bikers. Home to horse riders and hikers.

SOMERSET SCENIC LAKES DRIVE Breathe in the fresh country air Somerset Dam

Hit the road and breathe in the fresh country air as you leave the city and your worries behind. The rural panoramas and water-side stops are a day-tripper’s delight, while the curves, dips and slopes make for an epic ride.

Your adventure starts in Yowie country, Kilcoy. Explore the environmental centre and the surrounds of Yowie Park. Why not fuel your morning with a famous Yowie Coffee while you’re there?

Head south to Lake Somerset via the expansive beauty of the waters at Kirkleagh, the Spit and Somerset Park.

Just below the dam wall, lies the quaint and peaceful village of Somerset Dam. As you travel southward, the waters of Lake Somerset begin to flow into Lake Wivenhoe through the Stanley River.

Stop at O’Shea’s Crossing for a peaceful pause, where the two great lakes meet.

Next up, the town of Esk awaits, brimming

with country cafes, galleries and authentic Aussie pubs. Esk has the rugged beauty of Mount Glen Rock as its backdrop.

Admire the historic shopfronts and pop in to explore offerings of local arts, crafts, fresh produce and antiques.

Let the Brisbane Valley Highway be your guide as you venture alongside Lake Wivenhoe. Discover the native flora and fauna at Hamon Cove or Logan Inlet, or take a bushwalk through the scenic Wivenhoe Hill Trails. Visit the Spillway Lookout for amazing views of the Wivenhoe Dam wall before heading to Fernvale to explore its country cafes and quaint shops including the iconic Old Fernvale Bakery.

SOMERSET AND SOUTH BURNETT Allow a couple of days for this trip Bunya Mountains

Head to Ipswich, take time to explore this historic city and the Railway Workshops Museum. Turn off onto the Brisbane Valley Highway, have a look at Fernvale, Lake Wivenhoe, Esk and Toogoolawah.

Upon reaching the D’Aguillar Highway head west up and over the Great Dividing Range through the towns of Moore, Blackbutt and Yarraman.

From Yarraman you can drive direct to Nanango or through Maidenwell to the spectacular Bunya Mountains National Park. This park celebrates the Bunya Pine and its place in Aboriginal folklore as an important food source.

Short walks into the National Park are rewarded with splendid views over the surrounding countryside.

From Yarraman, the Burnett Highway and its thick pine forests signal your arrival into the South Burnett. Nanango is home to the South Burnett Energy Centre highlighting the nearby Tarong Power Station. Turn off the highway to Kingaroy, centre of the South Burnett and famous for peanut growing.

Further on is Wondai and its Timber Museum, and Murgon where many of the South Burnett’s wineries are to be found.

Take a different route home to Brisbane via Goomeri, Kilkivan and on through Gympie on the Bruce Highway.

Spend the day exploring the High Country Hamlets, north of Toowoomba uncovering historical displays, quaint and quirky arts and crafts and taking in the surrounding natural beauty.

Start your morning at the Chocolate Cottage Café in Highfield, located in the restored 1877 Highfields school house.

Gifts and homewares are also on offer in the neighbouring cottages.

Step back in time at the Highfields Pioneer Village and wander through over 50 buildings including antique vehicles and machinery, the century old Heritage Chapel and old-time shops fitted out just as they were in a bygone era, plus their newly acquired Big Cow! Head up the road to Cabarlah, home to Australia’s largest display of German imported grandfather and cuckoo clocks. If all that exploring has built up your appetite,

head across the road to the Farmers Arms Tavern, the oldest pub in Queensland, first licensed in 1863, where you will find generous pub meals for lunch. After filling your belly, it is time to walk off that meal at Ravensbourne National Park. Try out one of the five walking tracks or drive straight to Gus Beutel’s Lookout and take in the panoramic views of the Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim. Crows Nest National Park is nearby offering up many bushwalking loops. Visit the Crows Nest Museum and Historical Village. On your way out of town, be sure to stop in at Crows Nest Softdrinks, to sample their locally produced drinks.

• Spring Bluff Railway Station is home to beautifully manicured award-winning gardens.

Rainforests, lakes, valleys and mountains Spicers Peak

You can explore the Scenic Rim in a day, but do yourself a favour and allow a couple of days. There’s plenty of accommodation ranging from camping under the stars to luxuriating in resorts.

Head down the M1 towards the Gold Coast from Brisbane, cross the Coomera River and turn off the highway through Upper Coomera and Wongawallen to Tamborine Mountain. Take a wander through the Gallery Walk filled with shops and cafes, then there’s wineries, distilleries, Skywalk, ziplines and a brewery to visit. The Witches Falls section of Tamborine National Park was Queensland’s first National Park, declared in 1908.

Head out of the rainforest down to Tamborine and Beaudesert, or perhaps Canungra to Beechmont, or Lamington

National Park set in ancient rainforest.

From Beaudesert you could take a short trip up the valley of the Albert River to the village of Kerry and the gloriously named Lost World. Close by Beaudesert on the way to Rathdowney is Kooralbyn with its resort and golf course. You’ll see Mt Barney and Mt Lindsay from Rathdowney.

Two of South East Queensland’s favourite lakes Maroon and Moogerah, ideal for boating, fishing and water skiing, are on the way to Boonah and Aratula. Head back to Brisbane through the rich food bowl of Kalbar, Harrisville, Peak Crossing and Rosevale.

Stop off at one of the many stunning lakes, spectacular waterfalls or refreshing swimming holes.

If you’re after some serious retail therapy, Gallery Walk is the place to visit.

•

BYO jet ski and hit the water at Lakes Moogerah and Maroon or paddle your kayak on Lake Wyaralong.

LOCKYER VALLEY Toowoomba, High Country Hamlets and the Brisbane Valley

A short trip from Brisbane that could be explored in a day, or better still stay overnight along the way. Head west from Brisbane along the Warrego Highway.

Drive through the city of Ipswich to see the historic buildings and perhaps the Workshops Rail Museum. Further west, head through the rich agricultural lands of the Lockyer Valley. If you’re interested in history, the Cobb and Co Tourist drive follows the Cobb and Co route between Ipswich and Toowoomba.

Toowoomba is on the crest of the Great Dividing Range and is the second largest inland city in Australia. It is famous for the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, held in September, and is Australia’s longest running floral event. Year-round gardens to visit include the Japanese Garden, Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park and Picnic Point. Other attractions include the Empire

Lockyer Valley

Theatre, the DownsSteam Railway and Museum and Cobb and Co Museum.

Heading north on Australia’s Country Way (A3) turn off at Highfields for the short side trip to Spring Bluff scenic railway station. Travel through the hamlets of Cabarlah, Geham, Hampton and Pechey to Crows Nest. Be on the lookout for fresh local produce and antique shops.

Head back via Hampton to the scenic route on to Esk through Ravensbourne National Park and get a wonderful view from Gus Beutel Lookout. Explore Esk’s marvellous historic buildings before returning to Brisbane via Lake Wivenhoe.

GLASS HOUSE MOUNTAINS & BRIBIE ISLAND

A day trip that can turn to overnight stays Head up the Bruce Highway to Caboolture, take the turnoff to the D’Aguillar Highway in the direction of Woodford.

The road travels through agricultural land with Wamuran being well known for growing pineapples and strawberries.

In keeping with Woodford’s art and craft culture the annual Woodford Folk Festival attracts 125,000 visitors, one of Australia’s largest festivals.

Not far out of Woodford is the turnoff to Beerwah. Travel through pleasant farming land and the village of Peachester before arriving at Beerwah. Beerwah is famous because of its proximity to Australia Zoo. Turn south from Beerwah along the Steve Irwin Way for spectacular views of the Glass House Mountains.

Shortly after, the Steve Irwin Way joins the Bruce Highway turnoff to Bribie Island. Drive through the small towns of Ningi and Bongaree and cross Pumicestone Passage by bridge to Bribie Island.

You’ll find so much on Bribie including surf beaches, calm water beaches, fishing, boating, four-wheel driving, camping and golfing.

It’s a short drive back to Brisbane returning to the Bruce Highway and south to the city.

GRANITE BELT & NATIONAL PARKS Allow a couple of days for this trip Girraween

Head west from Brisbane along the Warrego Highway and veer left just before Ipswich onto the Cunningham Highway.

Shortly Main Range, part of the Great Dividing Range, comes into view with Cunningham’s Gap showing up as a saddle in the range.

It’s easy to see why this area is called the Granite Belt as it’s covered in granite outcrops best seen at Girraween National Park.

The trip up the range is spectacular, wind down your windows and listen for the melodic ping of the bellbirds. Stop at the top for a walk in the Main Range National Park.

Explore the area’s wineries which benefit from the cool climate because of its high altitude. As well as apples there’s lots of seasonal produce grown here and served up at the region’s cafes and restaurants.

Heading further south west is the rolling farm country of the Darling Downs and the historic town of Warwick. Take some time to see the many sandstone buildings that tell the story of the town. Australia’s Country Way leads south to Stanthorpe with its apple orchards and vineyards.

For a different route home travel back through Killarney, east of Warwick, visit the spectacular Queen Mary Falls, view the Valley of the Head and head over the spectacular road down the range to Boonah and Brisbane.

One of Brisbane’s hidden secrets Tangalooma Wrecks

One of Brisbane’s hidden secrets is Moreton Bay and its islands, in fact Moreton Island is the third largest sand island in the world, with the highest sandhills in the world.

As well as driving around its mainland shores there are ferries that will take you out to the islands.

Moreton Island has two ferry operations.

Moreton Island Adventures depart from the Port of Brisbane to The Wrecks with a vehicular ferry. Tangalooma Resort runs its own passenger ferry to Tangalooma from Holt Street, Pinkenba on the north side of the river. There is a range of accommodation, from resort style to camping. A four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary to get around the island.

Stradbroke Ferries service North Stradbroke Island by vehicular ferries and passenger ferries from Toondah Harbour at Cleveland. The Stradbroke Flyer runs water taxis from Toondah Harbour to North Stradbroke Island.

Stradbroke offers a good range of accommodation, camping, fishing, swimming, whale watching in season, nature walks and Quandamooka Indigenous culture. North Stradbroke Island has many kilometres of bitumen roads.

Stradbroke Ferries also run vehicular and Bay Islands Transit run passenger ferries to Lamb, Karragarra, Macleay and Russell Islands from Redland Bay. These islands in Southern Moreton Bay are close together in a sheltered and scenic part of the bay. The islands’ populations are a mix of permanent and holiday visitors.

Head north along the Bruce Highway until you reach Steve Irwin Way not far north of Caboolture. This detour off the highway goes through farmlands and gives spectacular views of the Glass House Mountains.

Not far past Australia Zoo you reach Landsborough and can head up the Blackall Range towards Maleny, famous for its craft and local food.

Before heading off to Montville take a short detour to Mary Cairncross Park, with its magnificent views. Further along are the villages of Montville and Mapleton, for more great views across to the coast.

At Mapleton head downhill to Nambour and across to re-join the Bruce Highway.

Heading north just off the highway is Yandina, home of the Ginger Factory.

Further north and just off the highway

Alexandra Headland

is Eumundi, famous for arts, crafts and its twice weekly markets. Stay off the highway and head eastwards to Tewantin, Noosaville and famous Noosa Heads.

Take a wander along Hastings Street for some food or shopping.

Heading south back to Brisbane take the coast road passing Sunshine Beach, Peregian, Coolum, Mudjimba, Maroochydore, Cotton Tree, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Buddina, Warana, Bokarina, Currimundi, Dicky Beach, Moffat Beach, Shelly Beach, Caloundra and Golden Beach, all with their own special spots worth visiting.

This drive takes you almost all the way up the coast of Queensland. It starts at the Gold Coast, takes you on through the state capital of Brisbane and on to the Sunshine Coast.

At historic Maryborough you might like to take a short detour to see the whales in Hervey Bay and visit Fraser Island. Further along the way is Childers, where you can take another short detour to Bundaberg, famous for its rum and the Mon Repos turtle rookery. It’s near here, just north of Fraser Island, that the Great Barrier Reef starts near Lady Elliot Island.

Continuing north past the industrial city of Gladstone you’ll come to the beef city of Rockhampton, from which a short detour will take you to Yeppoon and the Capricorn Coast. Continue northwards through the cane fields to the tropical

city of Mackay. Along the way there you might like to visit the beautiful Capricorn Caves.

At Proserpine a short side trip will take you to Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands. Next is Bowen, famous for its mangoes and the twin towns of Ayr and Home Hill on the Burdekin River. From Townsville you can visit Magnetic Island.

Continuing north you’ll soon reach Ingham passing the Wallaman Falls, the highest single drop waterfall in Australia. Continue on to Cardwell where there is a ferry to Hinchinbrook Island. Further north are Mission Beach and Tully, where you might meet a Cassowary while on its Spirit of the Rainforest Walk! Then, Innisfail which is famous for its sugar and finally on to Cairns.

The North Burnett is home to much of Queensland’s mandarin and orange crops around the town and also Mundubbera.

Eidsvold celebrates R. M. Williams at its Australian Bush Learning Centre. Further along the way it is well worth visiting the magnificent Cania Gorge near Monto.

On to Biloela there is The Silo, now housing an industry exhibition and nearby is the Callide Dam with its tourist park. You’ll travel down off the Great Divide through the old gold-mining town of Mt Morgan, before reaching Australia’s beef capital, Rockhampton.

Coming from Melbourne, via Dubbo and Moree on the Newell Highway, you’ll enter Queensland and the start of the Leichhardt Way just before Goondiwindi, home of the champion racehorse of the 1970s, the ‘Goondiwindi Grey’, Gunsynd.

The Leichhardt Way follows the tracks of early explorer Ludwig Leichhardt. Next comes Moonie, site of Australia’s first commercial oil field, then Miles and its historical village.

Further along the way you’ll visit Taroom with its 300-year-old Leichhardt Tree on which the intrepid explorer carved his initials. North of Taroom do take the short detour to the spectacular Isla Gorge National Park.

Then be sure to visit Theodore where the town owns the pub! The next place to stop awhile is Banana where you will learn that the town and the shire is named not after the fruit, but after a yellow bullock that local stockmen used to herd wild cattle in the 1840s.

The animal is the subject of a statue in the main street. There are great fishing spots along the Dawson River which meanders its way through Banana Shire.

The highway then heads through Rockhampton, the beef capital of Australia and on to Yeppoon, gateway to the Capricorn Coast and to Great Keppel Island. Or why not come faceto-face with a saltwater crocodile at the Koorana Crocodile Farm?

This route takes you from Sydney through Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Coonamble, Walgett and Lightning Ridge to Hebel, just over the Queensland border.

From there you’ll travel north to St George, famous for its fishing and cotton crops and on to Surat where the last Cobb and Co stagecoach service began.

Travelling north you’ll visit Roma, home of the gas and oil industry and the Big Rig, continue on to Injune, gateway to the Carnarvon Gorge National Park, where you can see the fascinating ancient rock art galleries deep inside the gorge.

You then travel on to Emerald, where you can find the world’s largest copy of Van Gogh’s Sunflower painting. On to Capella with its Pioneer Village, you’ll be passing through coal mining country.

Next along the way is Clermont where you can walk along the Hoods Lagoon boardwalk or take a look at the Theresa Creek Dam. Then on to Charters Towers, which was Australia’s second largest city during the gold rush of the 1870s.

Heading further north you’ll reach the Undara Volcanic National Park, world famous for its unique lava tubes.

Moving on, next is Ravenshoe, the highest town in Queensland and entrance to the Atherton Tablelands, a tropical paradise with lakes, waterfalls and rainforest.

Next comes Mareeba, at the heart of a coffee growing region. Then you are soon in Cairns and from there you travel on to the end of the highway at Cooktown.

From Barringun on the Queensland/ New South Wales border where the Kidman Way from Melbourne ends, |the Matilda Way takes you all the way North to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Along the way there you’ll pass through the birth places of many Australian icons and legends: Waltzing Matilda, Qantas, Stockmen and country pubs to name but a few.

First, you’ll pass though Cunnamulla, where as well as the Big Fella statue you can learn about the great artesian basin at the Artesian Time Tunnel. Then you’ll pass through Charleville and Tambo to reach Blackall, where shearer Jackie Howe sheared 321 sheep in 7 hours and 40 minutes in 1892!

Past Barcaldine, you’ll come to Longreach, where you can visit the Qantas Founders Museum and the Stockman’s Hall of Fame.

Let’s Drive QUEENSLAND Then travel on to Winton, near where Banjo Paterson wrote Waltzing Matilda.

You should visit the Qantilda Museum to learn about the real story behind the song. If you’re there in winter you may be lucky enough to be in town for the annual Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival.

Next is Cloncurry, where the Royal Flying Doctor Service began in 1928.

Next is Normanton, with its Purple Pub and at the end of the way is Karumba near where Burke, Wills, King and Gray ended their epic trek in 1861.

All along the way, listen to the yarns and meet up with bush characters at the many historic pubs that dot the route, and peer into the night sky for a million star experience.

Just over 1,000km from Adelaide lies Innamincka which is just a short distance to the Queensland border. On the way from Innamincka to Thargomindah, why not take a detour to the ‘Dig Tree’ on Nappa Merrie Station. It was near here that the Burke and Wills Expedition ended in tragedy.

At Thargomindah you can visit the huge hydro-electric power plant and Leahy House, once home to the cattle king, Sir Sydney Kidman. Then, along the way northwards you can take a turn-off to the Lake Bindegolly National Park, wetland home to many species of birds.

Next, you’ll pass through the town of Eulo, where you can check out the opals or why not try a session at the Artesian Mud Baths?

In Cunnamulla, an oasis on the Warrego River, you can visit the Cunnamulla Fella Centre and the Art Gallery and Museum Heritage Exhibition.

Now in cattle country and tracing the journeys of the stagecoaches of Cobb and Co, as you have been much of the way, you will travel across the plains to St George. On the Balonne River, St George, known as the inland fishing capital of Australia, offers plenty to anglers.

From St George you’ll travel on to Dalby and then to Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. You’re now in cotton country.

Down the steep slope of the Great Divide from Toowoomba to the fertile Lockyer Valley and from there on to Brisbane.

ADELAIDE Adelaide is the capital city of South Australia and home to more than 75% of South Australia’s 1.3 million population.

INNAMINCKA Innamincka is a small settlement that lies within the Innamincka Regional Reserve in north-east South Australia with a population of only 12.

THARGOMINDAH The road is sealed to Thargomindah which lies on the banks of the Bulloo River.

EULO The opal-mining town of Eulo known as the ‘Montville of the Outback’ is a small outback community with a population of 108.

The Natural Sciences Loop Road in south-west Outback Queensland covers it all: astronomy, geology, meteorology, palaeontology and history.

Starting in Charleville, home to the Cosmos Centre, there is plenty to see and do. You will pass through Wyandra on the way to Cunnamulla, where you’ll find ‘The Cunnamulla Fella’, a large bronze sculpture tribute to Stan Coster and Slim Dusty.

Next on the stop is Eulo, where we recommend you take a break and visit the Artesian Mud Baths and Springs. Once you reach Thargomindah, a nice spot to have a break is Pelican Point on the River Walk. The river crossing of Bulloo River is a favourite spot to walk, swim, canoe, picnic and fish.

You will reach Eromanga next which is the furthest town from the ocean in Australia! The town is famous for the

This drive takes you westward from the state capital to the very edge of the Simpson Desert, first through fertile plains, then Dividing Range, cattle country, oil and gas fields, artesian spas and finally, the Outback where you will experience the wonder of the million star show at night.

First, you’ll pass through Ipswich, rich in mining and railway history, and then on through the fertile Lockyer Valley which supplies vegetables to much of Australia.

Then comes Toowoomba, the Garden City at the top of the Great Divide, well-known for its Carnival of Flowers. Here, the Darling Downs begin.

As you cross the Downs, you will pass through Oakey with its Australian Army Flying Museum, Jondaryan with its Woolshed and Dalby, not too far from the Bunya Mountains National Park. Next is Chinchilla which is known for its Melon Festival and then Miles, home of the

Rockhampton offers much more that its status as the beef capital of Australia might suggest. For example, only 30 minutes away is Mount Hay where the tourist gemstone park is famous for its ‘thunder eggs’.

Or there’s Mount Archer, which offers a panoramic view of the town. Or just a little to the south, Mount Morgan is the site of the goldfields of the 1880s and 1890s.

Just north of the town are the Capricorn Caves with their limestone formations.

Duaringa is a little more than a 1-hour drive from ’Rocky’ as it’s known. Head west to Dingo with access to the sandstone wonders of the Blackdown Tableland National Park.

Next is Emerald, where you can visit the National Trust-listed Emerald Railway Station, then make the short drive south to picturesque Lake Maraboon.

As you travel west from Emerald, you can take a detour to see the sapphire fields around the towns of Sapphire and Anakie, and try your luck at fossicking.

Next comes the town of Alpha, best known as the town of murals.

And finally you reach Barcaldine, at the junction of the Capricorn and Matilda Ways, famous for its Tree of Knowledge memorial commemorating the Great Shearers Strike of 1891.

DUARINGA The small rural town of Duaringa is the oldest township in the shire of Duaringa, with buildings dating back to the 1870s.

DINGO Named after the native Australian dog the dingo, the town of Dingo is situated in grazing country west of Rockhampton.

This drive follows, in reverse, the driving routes across Queensland from Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory to Townsville.

Townsville is home to Barrier Reef HQ and the Museum of Tropical Queensland.

Just off the coast is Magnetic Island, more than half of which is designated as a National Park.

Heading west over the Great Dividing Range you will first reach the gold mining town of Charters Towers. A short drive out of town is Leahton Park, home of the biggest herd of Texas longhorn cattle in the country.

Further west you’ll come to Hughenden, formerly an inland sea with dinosaurs.

At the Flinders Discovery Centre, make sure you see the 7-metre long skeleton of ‘Hughie’, a Muttaburrasaurus. En route to Richmond, take a 1-hour side trip to Porcupine Gorge, Australia’s ‘Little Grand Canyon’.

Let’s Drive QUEENSLAND Either camp or make it back to Boulia for dinner at the Australian Hotel.

Visit the Min Urandangi Encounter where you will meet eccentric true-blue Aussie ‘characters’ such as Bluey, Mrs McGreal and more who will enthral you with their stories of the mysterious Min Min lights.

As well as telling the story of Boulia the Heritage Complex is also home to 100-million-year-old fossils of marine reptiles which were abundant in this area when it was an inland sea.

Boulia boasts a Plesiosaur fossil which is 80% complete and is among the world’s best discoveries.

Heading further west cross the majestic Georgina River and onto the gravel to the QLD/NT Border. Through Tobermorey Station and Roadhouse to Gemtree, so named for the Garnet and Zircon gems that can be found there.

Onto Alice Springs, after seeing all the many attractions of the Alice head south to Erldunda and west again through Curtain Springs to Yulara, Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Then through Docker River and across the border into WA. Warakurna is a dry community with a roadhouse and accommodation. Both Warakurna and Warburton (another dry community) have fabulous Indigenous art. Tjukayirla (dry community) has fuel and food, the last stop before Laverton where you can immerse yourself in the area’s history and fossick for gold.

From Laverton there’s connections to Kalgoorlie, the Golden Outback, Perth and the Coral Coast. A grand adventure on Australia’s longest shortcut. Note that the Outback Highway is a mixture of bitumen and unsealed roads, check road conditions before you travel and ensure your vehicle is suitable for the conditions.
