Dentures are a great way to replace missing teeth. They can restore your ability to chew and speak properly, and give you the confidence to smile again. Whether you need just a few teeth replaced or a full set, dentures can restore what you’ve lost and improve your overall look.

There are two basic components to dentures, the artificial teeth and the pink acrylic base that substitutes as the gums. Porcelain and metal may also be used for extra strength and support. Today, a number of combinations of color, size, shape and style are available to give you the custom smile you want in a denture that functions correctly. The Fit The key to great dentures is a great fit. Unless dentures fit properly, you won’t achieve the necessary suction to hold them in place, making speaking and eating more difficult. It takes time, patience and several visits to design dentures that will satisfy all your needs. Be sure to ask your denture professional lots of questions, and don’t be afraid to express your likes and dislikes during the process. After all, when all is said and done, you are the one who has to wear them. Undoubtedly, the change from natural teeth to dentures takes some getting used to.

Initial speech problems are common but soon overcome as you become accustomed to wearing your new dentures. Chewing will take some practice, but remember the old adage; “practice makes perfect”! Sore spots may arise, but proper dental hygiene, and cleaning of your new dentures can reduce this problem greatly. It’s a good idea to remove your dentures at night and give your gums time to breathe. Just remember to let the dentures rest in a glass of water to avoid drying out and shrinking. Your denture professional can also make further adjustments to your dentures for a better fit.

2. Preliminary Impressions to make customised trays for the second impression 3. Border moulding and Final impressions with elastomeric impression material.

4. Bite registrations using an intraoral tracing device to record “passive “ bite at rest.

Teeth arrangement set up is done utilizing an Kavo Stratos Articluator to mimic unique jaw relationships and three dimensional movements.

5. Waxed up trial dentures try in to assess tooth position, shade, shape and lip posture SR Ivocap processing of the denture base.

The denture base is contoured and tinted to give a “Realife” gum effect.

6. Fitting of the denture, instructions in care.

7. Follow up and post insertion personalized occlusion equilibration ( balancing in motion ).

Ivocap Injection Moulding Processing System Advantages The SR Ivocap® system uses a controlled heat/pressure polymerization procedure during which time the exact amount of material flows into the flask to compensate for Shrinkage which ensures a perfect fit.

This pressure also optimizes the physical properties of the SR Ivocap® High Impact denture base material and enhances the bond of the acrylic teeth to the base. An increase in the vertical dimension of the denture is also avoided. replicates the mould with no plastic deformation or distortion of the denture base. This reduces pressure points and fitting discreancies keeping the dimension of the finished denture to the carefully planned shape Complete polymerization - reduced irritation to the gums from free monomer.
