Paint Me

Paint Me is a plaster painting opportunity for all ages. This activity is an introductory painting class for 12 painters. Various ceramics pieces will be available to paint and will be ready to take home that day on a first-come, first-serve basis. Deer Park Parks and Recreation will be providing all supplies.

Family Day Out

Saturday | March 26 | 2 - 5pm

Join us for an afternoon out with your family learning basic camping skills such as tent setup, fire building, outdoor cooking, and s’mores*.

Spring Break Camp

$115 Residents/$135 Non-Residents

Enjoy Spring Break by taking exciting field trips and creating lasting relationships with new friends! We will be traveling to Moody Gardens on March 15, Sea Center on March 16, and Houston Rodeo on March 17. During the day, participants will enjoy a variety of crafts, activities, and games. Campers should bring a sack lunch, two snacks, and a reusable water bottle for each day of camp.

Safe Sitter

$45 per sitter

Safe Sitter® is a 6-hour program that is designed to teach young teens how to be better, safer babysitters. For more than 35 years, Safe Sitter® has been a leader in providing life skills and child care training for youth. A student handbook and completion card will be issued to each student at a completion ceremony at the end of class.

March 11 - Flowers

April 8 - Bunny & Tricks

Canvas & Chill is a setting for families to enjoy a night out together while creating a beautiful masterpiece. Bring your snacks and receive step-by-step instruction limited to 10 painters. No painting experience is required. All materials are provided. You may bring an apron or old shirt to protect clothing if desired. All ages are welcome, but it is recommended that those under 8 have an adult to assist.

Intro To Dog Obedience

Tuesdays | 6:30 - 7:30pm

March 15 - April 19 | May 24 - June 28

Jimmy Burke Center | Ages 14 & up | Dogs 3 mos. & up $150 per dog and human pair

Learn the basics of training your dog in our group class. This 6-week class will include beginning engagement skills, and on-leash skills such as: sit, down, recall, looseleash walking, and boundary training. We also welcome dogs that need to brush up on skills. Call Angela Spence at AC Squared LLC 832-382-3638 if you have questions.

Geocaching

Friday | April 1 | 6 - 7:30pm

Claude Burgess Center | All Ages | $5 per seeker

Happy April Fool’s Day! Join us in locating caches and/ or tricks at Claude Burgess. You may buddy up in teams up to 3 or go solo. GPS equipment is limited, but a phone GPS will work just fine. All ages are welcome, but it is recommended that those younger than 12 have an adult chaperone. There will be a prize for the team that finds all their caches with given the coordinates.

SAFE@HOME SAFE SITTER

Friday | May 27 | 1 - 2:30pm

$25 per person

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a 90-minute program that is designed to teach students how to practice safe habits, prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.

** We will offer Pediatric First Aid/CPR to interested participants that have taken the Safe Sitter and Safe@Home on June 3rd for $50 per person.
