After months of hard work behind the scenes to build momentum during the planning phase, we are now launching the 2023 JCC Maccabi Games® & Access community and corporate partnership campaign. The David Posnack JCC has one year — and $2 million — to go. As honorary chairs of this pioneering effort, we are delighted to greet you.

Our plans for continuing the tradition of holding the Opening Ceremony at FLA Live Arena are in the works. During this special evening, a parade of delegations from all over the world will be greeted by the cheers of family, friends, alumni, staff, coaches, community leaders, and 10,000+ spectators. Our team has already effectively raised $600,000+ in Fiscal Year 2021-2022. Yet, there is good work ahead, and we are seeking your help and support in reaching our fundraising goal of $2 million which will lock-in our ability to host a first class, highly successful event for all participants.

From our Co-Chairs

In 2015, the David Posnack JCC (DPJCC) was the official host of the 33rd annual JCC Maccabi Games® by the JCC Association of North America, an honor bestowed to select hand-picked organizations across the United States. The JCC Maccabi Games® are an Olympic-style sporting competition held each summer in North America and is the world's largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers ages 13 to 16.

(i.e., DPJCC, Nova Southeastern University, FLA Live Arena, Broward County Schools, local municipalities, and other county venues and parks)

To bring this incredible first-of-its-kind opportunity to fruition in 2015, the DPJCC's dedicated professionals and leadership team sought out strategic community and corporate partnerships, bringing together 2,000 athletes, 300 coaches, 1,000 volunteers, 500 visiting families, 400 host families, and close to 10,000 spectators from around the world, right here in Broward County.

Another major component of the JCC Maccabi Games® is the JCC Maccabi Cares program. Maccabi Cares is a hands-on service project that provides all athletes with the opportunity to significantly impact their host community in a meaningful way. The fundamental American concept of community service compels us to make a difference in the lives of those who need our support.

The David Posnack JCC has once again been awarded the honor of hosting the JCC Maccabi Games® and has proudly added the inaugural JCC Access Games for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Games will take place in August of 2023, and this time we expect to welcome nearly 2,000 athletes from around the world to Broward County.

Rarely does one get to experience the satisfaction that comes from bringing a community together to celebrate such an epic event. In 2015, our community became a part of a global movement that positively impacted the lives of thousands of people, both locally and globally. As a host community, we experienced the pride and gratification of a job well done.

Through partnerships between the DPJCC, Town of Davie and Cooper City, and between DPJCC and Broward County, this week-long, multi-sport event will take place at multiple venues.

Your generosity and support will ensure that the David Posnack JCC and Broward County are once again recognized as first-rate hosts, surrounded by a supportive, and caring community.

The Games will feature competitions in various sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming, tennis, dance, table tennis, volleyball, ice hockey, flag football, sports reporter, and e-sports.

About the Games

Since 1982 the JCC Maccabi Games® have offered a unique social, cultural, and life-shaping experience to more than 100,000 Jewish teens. The Games provide a vibrant contribution to the athletic, social, and cultural growth of the participating youth by promoting healthy development, physical fitness, creativity, and teamwork that strengthen the teens’ identity, selfesteem, and personal growth.

The energy and excitement make it an unforgettable time for everyone, from participants to volunteers, from coaches to host families. The impact of your support extends well beyond those directly involved in the Games, to thousands of vulnerable children and families served by participating athletes through the JCC Maccabi Cares volunteer day during the week of the Games.

WATCH VIDEO: proudly hosted its first JCC Maccabi Games® in 2015 The JCC Association is proud to add the Access Games, a JCC Maccabi Games® experience for athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This initiative will be a collaboration between the JCC Association of North America, local Community Non-Profit Agencies, and the David Posnack JCC. The program will be a two-day experience held from August 6, 2023, to August 8, 2023, in conjunction with the 2023 JCC Maccabi Games®.
