New N ew wL Lavatories at the Daniel K. Inouye International By: Guy Ichinotsubo Airport Airpor p Lavatories The $22M project is scheduled to be completed summer 2021. The restrooms in the Diamond Head and Ewa Concourses were renovated under separate contracts.
Restrooms renovations are underway at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Phase I is under construction, which is remodeling 52 public restrooms in Terminal 2, including the ticket lobbies, baggage claims and the Central Concourse. A new pair of men’s and women’s restroom will also be constructed in the Central Concourse.
Design features include: • Highly visible entrance solid surface terrazzo flooring, eliminating the tile and grout which harbors odor and bacteria. • Tough lavatories, with handsfree soap dispensers, water facets and hand dryers.
• Higher that h stallll partitions ii h extend lower to the floor for added privacy. • Improved airflow and ventilation. Design for Phase II will commence shortly, to renovate 18 public restrooms in Terminal 1.
• Recharging eco-flush water closest and faucet technology • Larger and wider stalls for ease of maneuverability with luggage.
