Recipe of the Month: Green Papaya Salad By: Rae Nguyen

Try a green papaya salad to start a new year. It’s light and versatile - you can add any type of protein, including boiled or grilled shrimp, chicken or tofu for a filling dish.

Dressing: • 1 cup of water • 5 tablespoon of sugar • Lime juice from a full lime • ¼ cup of fish sauce - Three Crabs brand • Minced garlic from 3-4 cloves • Chopped Thai chile

Thoroughly mix the following ingredients. • Shredded green papaya • Shredded carrots • Handful of chopped romaine lettuce • Chopped tomatoes • Chopped cucumbers • Bean sprouts • Topped off with chopped roasted honey peanuts and cilantro

Shake dressing and pour over salad. Enjoy!

A final phase restoring the Interim Conrac space within the Terminal 2 (formerly Overseas Terminal) parking structure will return a total of 727 parking stalls to public use. The HNL Conrac provides significant environmental benefit as passengers can take a single shuttle instead of waiting for individual company vehicles. The HNL Conrac is expected to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification for use of

environmentally friendly construction practices, installation of energy efficient fixtures, and stormwater management. HNL Conrac facts: • Total square feet: 1.8 million over five-stories. • Artwork within the Conrac was created by Koloa artist, Carol Bennett. • Theme of the Conrac design is ahupuaʻa - a Hawaiian term for a large socioeconomic, geologic and climatic subdivision of land. • Estimated reduction in potable water usage by 35% through use of low flow fixtures and nonpotable irrigation. • Energy cost savings of 24% compared to the ASHRAE performance-based energy standard.
