Mucho se ha dicho que coleccionar arte es un “arte” en sí mismo. Y lo bueno es que, gracias a toda la información disponible, iniciarte en él resulta hoy más alcanzable que nunca.

El coleccionismo es un ejercicio que estimula el ojo, la mente y el corazón, y es tan antiguo como el ser humano. Tal parecería que acumular objetos para luego mostrarlos estuviera en nuestro ADN. Pero, coleccionar arte es cosa de pasión, y quien no lo crea, que investigue un poco la historia de la legendaria familia florentina Médici.

En Simple Chic, un librito de lo más entretenido de la exgalerista y personality colombiana, Gloria Saldarriaga, hay una definición de arte que sirve bien para calentar los motores de este tema de la pasión por las artes:

“En un nivel más profundo, el arte nos da la posibilidad de ser testigos del tiempo y de entrar en un proceso de reflexión, bien sea sobre la realidad que presenta la obra o sobre el estado creativo del artista”.

Volverse coleccionista, cuando se quiere hacer con seriedad, es un ejercicio que requiere, además de pasión, cierto entrenamiento. Y Sylvia Villafañe, la fundadora de Galería Petrus, es una instructora experta que ha llevado de la mano a muchos amantes del arte y los ha convertido en coleccionistas.
