As C-level security teams seek to meet new challenges, cybercriminals have upped their game, widening their attack vectors. Cybercrime is big business today, with assailants becoming increasingly advanced in their targets and sophisticated in their methods.

Through 2023, cybersecurity experts predict an increase in supply chain attacks on businesses of all sizes, from small and mediumsized enterprises to multinational organisations.

A re-emergence of malware strains like Trickbot, Emotet and Conti indicates an uptick in cybercrime for hire, with growth of the ransomware-as-a-service sector enabling criminals who lack deep technical skills to still make money, either through selling stolen information on the dark web, or by extorting a ransom for decryption keys.

Through 2023, cybersecurity experts predict an increase in supply chain attacks on businesses of all sizes, from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational organisations. Providing a pathway to reach

multiple partners and customers, suppliers are tipped to be particularly appealing to adversaries in the months and years ahead.

As the mobile workforce continues to expand, with networks stretching from understaffed corporate facilities and home offices, threat vectors continue to multiply. Experts suggest that business email compromise will remain a top attack method. In addition, cybercriminals are tipped to implement more advanced techniques, such as machine learning, in order to access private databases and steal information.
