November is here with trees of gold

Filled with memories of times of old

The Indian Summer days have passed

It all went by so very fast

Soon we will gather together

Share stories and remember

Thanksgiving I remember as a time of family

From my youngest years was all it could be

Aunts, uncles and cousins from the city came too

For mom there was always so much to do

A giant turkey seemed twenty four hours to cook

And all the other food that the meal took

Vegetables of every kind and pies for dessert

Mashed potatoes,gravy that dripped on my shirt

Cranberry jelly I never liked from a can

All after days of cooking using every pot and pan

But what I remember most after all these years

Is the strong feeling of family as they’d all appear

Back then I remember snow on the ground

And Heidi on the TV and us running all around

Adults had cocktails and told stories of the past

It all created memories that would forever last

To top it all off you see, we knew that not far away

Was winter break and the magic of Christmas Day

I hope you all have happy holiday memories too

May you be blessed with such joy in all you do!
