TOMMY DOUBLEDAY

BY RESIDENT OLLIE (AND KIMBERLY) KLYTTA

MY MAMA CALLS ME her “little boy,” but my name is Ollie! I am a five-year-old tri-color English Bulldog with one blue and one brown eye. I live in the Old Town section of Park Ridge. My family has been taking care of bulldogs more than 20 years so they were not shocked when a breeder contacted them about adopting me. They knew there must have been something going on, but they were still happy to adopt me. I had the typical bulldog health problems, but also had no hip sockets! My mama was shocked when she saw the x-ray. However, as I grew, my muscles and ligaments got stronger and now, I have no problem being active.

I live with a family of five and a bully brother who is much less active. I have a lot of puppy energy and can play all day long. You will usually find me with a toy in my mouth. I am crazy about my human brother, Alexander. I crawl on him, put a paw on each shoulder and wait until he looks at me. When he does, I lick him. If he breaks my gaze, I stop licking but as soon as he engages my eyes again, I give him more kisses. He’s my best friend.

In the rare moments I am not playing, I nap in all sorts of crazy positions. Sitting up with my head back, stuffed between cushions on the sofa. My mama has a lot of photos of me in silly positions. I make my family laugh often, but especially when they find me in one of my awkward poses. I like to go on walks and usually go uptown by the restaurants. It is fun for me to say hello to people. My biggest “pet peeve” is when my water bowl is empty. I will flip it over and over until my mama comes over and fills it.

Perhaps you have seen me! Overall, I am an easygoing, friendly guy with a lot of personality. My family considers me their son/brother and I couldn’t be more thankful. I know we bullies require a bit more attention, but they know I am worth it. I hope to see you around Park Ridge!
