Book Summary The Paralympic Games are sporting events for top athletes with disabilities. Like the Olympic Games, the Paralympics include both Summer and Winter Games. The games feature nearly 30 sports. When competing, many athletes use special equipment designed to work with their disabilities. Other athletes may have a guide to help them. Each sport in the Paralympic Games is thrilling and stars the best athletes.

Teacher Note Consider reading aloud the captions throughout this book. Students may benefit from support with new vocabulary, such as adaptive, degrees, impairment, parallel, performance, and prosthetics.
