This is based on the PSAT students take during their 11th-grade year Of the 1 3 million tests annually, only 15,000 students are selected as National Merit Finalists. This nationwide pool of finalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors. These 6 students excel both in and out of the classroom and all are members of the ACT 30 club. Four students from Team Fusion 364 (Jamir R , Raegan M., Grayson H. and Cedric W.) and Stem Instructors (D. Keyser, G. Huffman, and S. Pfaff) completed the Life Changers trip to Peru in February. In partnership with a school in Mobile, students used 3D printing to build prosthetic limbs and traveled to help fit individuals in Peru with the prosthetics. Upon their return, the students and instructors had amazing stories and experiences to share from the trip. GHS is proud of the lasting impact this project will have on those in Peru and from Gulfport They received President Biden’s Presidential Bronze Medal for Volunteerism.

The Advanced Theatre Class participated in the 2024 Thescon Program in Meridian, Ms. There they performed Radium Girls and received informative feed back on their performance. At Thescon the students attended workshops and learned about the history of Music in Mississippi at the MAX.
At Thescon, the theatre recieved the “Outstanding Achievement in Period Design Award”. Jayden A. and Reese. C. both recieved the “AllStar Cast” award for Radium Girls.
Congratulations on a successful season for the Gulfport Winds! The group competed in the MIA Circuit this season with their 2024 production “Slither”. They traveled all around Mississippi to compete and even to Pace, Florida. Overall they placed 7th at the MIA Championships in Jackson, Ms.

The Gulfport Cadet guard consist of two groups combined from Central Middle School and Bayouview Middle school. The students learned all the skills required to perform in front of an audience. The Gulfport Cadet competed in numerous competitions around the state. The guard recieved 2nd place at the 2024 MIA Championship competition in Jackson, MS for their program “Every Little Thing”. We are so proud of everyone.
