Episcopal Day prepares students to be leaders of positive change in the world. All students explore how to be a compassionate neighbor and proactive agent of positive change by diving into gradelevel service learning units in the classroom which culminate in hands-on projects. The footprint of Episcopal Day students can be seen and felt throughout the San Mateo community and beyond.
Being in the heart of San Mateo, our ability to take students out of the classroom and explore areas just beyond our campus provides an authentic bridge between classroom lessons and the greater community around us.
Exploring the San Mateo Creek as they tap into their creative minds and explore water quality and pollution
Conducting park cleanups in Central Park as they explore the varieties of plastics and glass and how they impact our environment and our oceans.
Conducting food drives for the Samaritan House.
Reading with our senior neighbors at the Peninsula Regent.
Episcopal Day students benefit from a strong partnership between home and school. From the first day to the last, school life is bustling with activities, events, assemblies, performances, and field trips supported directly or indirectly by parents and guardians.
Many volunteering activities are coordinated through the Day School Parents Association (DSPA) and managed by a parent committee that meets monthly.
Parent and guardian volunteering and engagement in school life are essential to instill a sense of leadership and service in our students.
