SAPESCO steps up expansion

be in a stage of transition. “There is big business in Egypt and everything will be resolved eventually. It’s just that there is a problem at the moment.” Ahmed Sabry, SAPESCO Business Development Manager, said the stability of the Gulf was enticing. “The countries we mainly operate in were hit by political disturbances. We’re keen to move into areas that are more stable. The Gulf is hungry for high quality services. “Egypt is still having difficulties. It will improve, of course. But at the moment there it’s like the oil crisis of the ‘eighties. OK, prices are back up but in Egypt they are not making much money any more. “We’re expanding in the Gulf with our industrial, pipeline and processing services along with our offshore services.”

Canada’s $120 billion golden opportunity

From Hamriyah to the world KTL Offshore was established in Singapore 100 years ago. The company has now grown to be one of the largest wire rope and rigging suppliers in the world. KTL Global Ltd has established the largest dedicated rigging facility in the Middle East in the Hamriyah Free Zone in the UAE. The 10,000 square metre facilty is the most sophisticated in the region, and has been purpose-built to target the heavy lift and offshore construction industries in the Middle East’s booming oil and gas market. KTL’s regional sales manager, Mr. Andrea Barattieri, says KTL does not look on ADIPEC as an opportunity to sell its products and services. “For us, ADIPEC is about marketing, branding and the chance to point out our expertise. We want to let people know about the high standards at KTL, and how we do things differently,” he said This will be KTL’s second ADIPEC, after setting up in Hamriyah FZ in March 2010. The company also has one of the largest wire rope, rigging and mooring facilities in the world, a 28,000 square metre facility in Singapore. Barattieri described KTL’s stand in the new Offshore and Marine Hall, in the Outdoor section of the event: “We are not showing any of our bigger products, purely from a logistical, practical and cost point of view. We will be showing a film of our yard, and our expertise, but the show for us is about meeting

and talking to people. “Visitors who are more interested in what we do and our product range are more than welcome to come and visit our yard in Hamriyah, where we can give them demonstrations and a tour. We will also be showing some of our smaller products. Our exclusive wire rope supplier, Redaelli, of Italy, will also be attending.” Business is booming for the company. The sales manager said: “We have recently secured a couple of big deals in Brazil, with Petrobras. Our Hamriyah base serves many regions of the world. Although the Middle East is clearly a key market for us, from the UAE we serve India, the Caspian, Europe and the Americas. We are doing very well. We opened in 2010, and made profit in the first year. We are seeing strong growth in Brazil, and more locally, in Saudi Arabia, as well as in the Caspian. “We supply to a number of big projects, but there will only be a few of those each year. We compete with the smaller local players on small to medium contracts here and across the region, but they can’t compete with us on the bigger projects. Having said that, we’re not here to steal business from anyone, we just want to do what we do, and do it well. Our customers include many larger players, but on a day-to-day basis, our major customers are offshore contractors, such as Lamprell (the rig manufacturing neighbour in Hamriyah), McDermott, NPCC, Saipem and Seatrax.

Polymer flooding “In Oman’s Marmul field, PDO, with Shell’s support, has begun one of the first and largest full-scale applications of polymer flooding outside China. The initiative uses a commercially-available polymer to increase the injected water’s viscosity so it can push out the oil. New efforts to expand polymer flooding to the rest of the field are being accelerated, and opportunities to further improve the gains from this process are being explored. Already approved

for Marmul is an alkaline surfactant polymer (ASP) EOR pilot project. This involves injecting an alkali and surfactant into the oil reservoir, creating ‘soaps’ that form an emulsion with the oil that can be swept out of the formation with polymer flooding. “As a result of this project on top of waterflood improvements implemented previously, Marmul has reached the highest-ever production levels in its 31-year history,” said Schotman.

Oil powerhouse Saudi Arabia says world’s fifth largest field ready in 2014 In its 2011 annual report, Saudi Aramco gives a progress update on the giant Manifa field Saudi Arabia is pushing ahead with a major project to develop the world’s fifth largest oilfield, which will pump nearly 900,000 barrels per day of heavy crude and 90 million cubic feet per day of sour gas, according to the field’s operators. State-owned Saudi Aramco said its 2011 activities focused on the development of Manifa field, adding that it had completed nearly 97 per cent of offshore construction, including all platform decks, subsea pipelines for crude oil gathering and water injection, and subsea power and communication cables. Construction of the central oil and gas processing facility was nearly three-quarters complete by year-end and all major equipment has been installed, Aramco said in its 2011 annual report,

distributed at ADIPEC. It said all 27 man-made islands and the main and lateral causeways for Manifa were also completed. The islands were constructed to host shallow-water wells, which are more cost effective than offshore rigs, the report said. Aramco, the world’s largest oil producing firm, said it had conducted extensive engineering and ecological assessments to ensure that the marine ecosystem would not be adversely affected by the development. “When the development is finished in June 2013, it will include 41 kilometres of causeways, three kilometres of bridges, 27 drilling islands, 13 offshore platforms, 15 onshore drill sites, water supply wells, injection facilities, multiple pipelines and a 420 megawatt heat and electricity plant,” it said. “By the time it is fully operational in December

With its estimated 10 billion barrels of crude reserves, Manifa can contribute to crucial energy concerns, according to the report. “First, it addresses the supply-demand equation, producing more petroleum to address world energy needs; that increased capacity has obvious importance as a source of downstream products such as gasoline, jet fuel and motor oil, which literally keep economies – and people – on the move. “Second, it addresses the lack of refining capacity at the heart of the energy crisis because Aramco also plans to build new refineries to handle heavy oil,” the report said.

Discovered on a wildcat drilling venture in late September 1957 with the spudding in of Manifa Well No1, Manifa was the ninth field discovered by Aramco, and the second discovered in Saudi coastal waters. It was originally developed with eight wells and designed to process dry crude, which does not contain any formation water with its inherent salt content. Drilling stopped in 1960 and ultimately Manifa was mothballed in 1985, or put on indefinite hiatus, because of the heaviness of its crude. Heavy crude is more difficult and expensive to refine and is less in demand than lighter crudes. Crude oil ranges in grade from very light (high in gasoline content) to very heavy (high in residual oils); lighter crudes are sweet, meaning they are low in sulphur and flow easily, and heavy crudes are high in sulphur.

Under the terms of the contract, UK headquartered Speedy will provide logistics and equipment support to ESNAAD in its operations on ZADCO’s massive Zakum field expansion project, which is set to boost its oil production to 750,000 bpd. Speedy provides asset management solutions, including short-term rentals or long-term lease of equipment for the oil and gas sector, including pipelines, utilities, industrial, construction and infrastructure markets. “Our services are spreading across the ADNOC group, and

we’re already looking at taking the relationship with them outside the UAE too,” said Carter, suggesting they may look to expand into Kazakhstan in the coming years. The deal with ZADCO is among a number of initiatives Speedy has embarked on with the ADNOC group of companies. It also plans to sign a deal with a refinery in Jebel Ali in the months ahead. Speedy has been increasing its focus on the Middle East over the last two years, having invested some AED 232 million ($63 million) in the region, as part of its expansion in a number of markets. Its first opening in the region was in the UAE in 2010, followed by Oman six months later, then Egypt, followed by Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Bader Al Lamki, a member of the ADIPEC executive steering committee this year, sees the event as a platform for the industry to come together and discuss the issues, opportunities and challenges in meeting Abu Dhabi’s target to derive seven per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020. “I take ADIPEC 2012 as an opportunity for Masdar to be involved in energy discussions, and ensure Abu Dhabi’s sustainable position as a key global energy supplier in terms of both traditional and renewal sources,” he said. A: Siemens was involved in this strategically important project from the very beginning, working in harmony with a series of other contractors on a tight timescale to deliver an alternative option to shipping crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz. The Siemens contribution to the project was to supply the entire control and automation system of the pipeline – it’s ‘brain’, if you like. For this, we had to develop a relatively complex system, enlisting the assistance of a team from Europe to work with our local experts in order to design, finalise and implement a suitably comprehensive solution. Essentially, the Siemens control and automation system at the HabshanFujairah facility is designed to ensure that the pipeline, under normal operation, can be accurately managed from a central location, including measuring and controlling the flow of oil, shifting the lines, monitoring and controlling different stations and streams, and supervising other variables fundamental to the reliable day-to-day operation of the pipeline. Within the system there is also a series of different modules and platforms that allow for operation under alternative conditions, for instance in the case of an emergency. The Middle East’s new gas consumers Demand for gas from the power sector is far outstripping supply. James Gavin reports.

The Gulf’s producers face a new call on their production as domestic demand ramps up. Many Middle East countries are meeting domestic energy demand by becoming gas importers – and making their gas markets more attractive to investment by reducing subsidies on consumer energy prices. Kuwait has been importing LNG since 2009, with Dubai following suit in 2010. Bahrain is poised to import LNG shortly, while Saudi Arabia could join their ranks in a few years’ time. Abu Dhabi imports

gas via the Dolphin pipeline from Qatar. Even Iran, which holds the world’s largest gas reserves, is a net gas importer at present, due to the inflow of pipeline gas from Turkmenistan. The principal reason for growth in gas imports is to satisfy energy demand in the region’s fastexpanding economies, although desire to reduce the use of oil as a powergeneration feedstock, both for cost and environmental reasons, plays a part. “Demand for gas from the power sector is far outpacing supply. This will continue as governments

will need to invest heavily in power generation expansion to meet growing demand - and most of that new capacity is going to be gas-fired,” says Hakim Darbouche, a research fellow at the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies. More than 40 per cent of gas produced in the Middle East is already used for power generation – some 450 million cm a day, according to consultancy FACTS Global Energy. Gas consumption for power production in the region is expected to increase by around 5 per cent a year until 2030.

Meeting that increased demand will require countries to increase imports, while maximising domestic gas production. This means increasing reliance on LNG, as most countries have few options open to expand pipeline imports. Qatar’s North Field currently supplies gas to the UAE at relatively low cost via the Dolphin pipeline, which runs offshore from Ras Laffan in Qatar to Taweelah in Abu Dhabi, with capacity of around 73 million cm/d. However, Qatar is unlikely to export much more gas via that route – and, if it did, it would almost certainly seek to charge prices similar to its much more expensive LNG exports, regional observers say.

Saudi Arabia will lead Gulf LNG importers, if it decides to switch course from its current practice of relying on cheap domestic oil as a power feedstock. More than half the country’s total energy consumption comes from oil at present, with direct oil burning comprising more than 35 per cent of the power generating mix. Siamak Adibi of FACTS Global Energy notes that state-run Saudi Aramco has tended to compare the cost of imported gas and LNG against the production cost of its own crude, rather than comparing it with the much larger revenue it could obtain for that crude if it were sold as exports. That has made LNG look like a relatively expensive option. However, a change could come if the Kingdom does not want to dramatically increase the amount of oil it burns to meet soaring domestic demand. If the Saudi view changes, the Kingdom will need to rely more heavily on gas. FACTS estimates Saudi Arabia could

need gas imports of 2 billion cf/d after 2020. Such a change would be all the more remarkable because Saudi Arabia is estimated to have the world’s fifth-largest proved gas reserves – around 288 trillion cf. However, more than half of those reserves are associated gas and so tied to crude production. Around threequarters of the remainder is either sour or tight gas, according to the US Energy Information Administration. That leaves only around 700 million to 800 million cm of gas that can be developed easily. This gas has been allocated for use in either domestic industry or for desalination. In Saudi Arabia and the rest of the region, the race is now on to bring reserves once deemed too expensive to bother with in to production. “Countries with gas reserves that are relatively difficult and costly to develop – be they deep offshore, tight, shale, or contaminated by highsulphur content – are now turning to these resources to ramp up domestic supply,” Darbouche says.

Iraq’s gas sector may provide potential for future pipeline supply to the Gulf, but any surplus there would probably be needed domestically. Iran’s frosty relationship with many of its neighbours in the Middle East, as well as its own growing gas needs, mean pipeline exports are not on its agenda. Egypt, another significant gas producer, has been exporting some of its gas by pipeline to Israel and Jordan. But the heavy investment in exploration in the Mediterranean to supplement Egypt’s existing reserves is being made primarily to cater to its own growing domestic gas demand. Clearly, LNG imports will be central to gas provision across much of the Middle East, particularly the Gulf. Bahrain, which faces a

severe energy shortage, will award the contract to build its first LNG terminal by year-end. The project, which could cost up to US$1 billion, should be operational by 2015. The government said it had been in talks with Gazprom to secure 400 million cubic feet a day (cfd) of gas as LNG, adding it would use spot LNG purchases if a deal could not be struck. Unconventional The UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia all possess significant unconventional gas reserves. In North Africa, Algeria has already started shale-gas exploration, and Libya will turn to its unconventional gas reserves before long, analysts say. However, such reserves are technically challenging and expensive to exploit. The planned development of the Shah sour gasfield, onshore Abu Dhabi, is expected to cost US$10 billion. Due on stream by late 2014, the project will produce 500 million cf/d of clean gas, plus volumes of condensates, natural gas liquids and sulphur, operator

Next year’s Oil Barons’ Charity Ball promises to be bigger and better than ever. Billed as the ‘Glitter Ball’, the oil industry’s biggest charity fundraiser will feature an ABBA tribute band for its tenth event at Dubai’s Meydan Racecourse, on March 8. The nominated charity for the fifth year running will be Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), and for the first time there will be colour themes-purple for charity, and silver for glitter. Guests can choose to add a touch of colour or wear a complete outfit in either silver or purple. The event started in 2003 as an informal networking event for the energy sector. The relationship with FOCP began in 2008. FOCP has assisted more than 900 patients since its inception in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al

Qasimi. Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna is the current patron. Nymphea’s unmanned survey vehicle NEWS Hall 9, Stand 9035G 11-14 November

Specialising in technologies to locate, analyse and tap underwater springs, French firm, Nymphea Environnement, is displaying a new Remote Survey Vehicle (RSV), designed to conduct specific survey tasks in remote, inaccessible areas. “ADIPEC is a fantastic

opportunity to meet offshore oil and gas stakeholders; government entities, oil companies, construction companies and survey competitors,” said Thierry Carlin, company MD. “The new RSV wlll allow us to provide a range of marine survey services to our potential clients, mainly offshore oil companies

and construction groups, while greatly reducing the cost of operation and the time of intervention.” The RSV is an unmanned surface vehicle, or ‘marine drone’, that provides a scope of marine survey tasks with ‘unmatchable reactivity.’ With almost non-existent mobilisation costs and a locally-trained

team, the product is extremely cost-effective. The RSV is on display in the French Pavilion. The head of Nymphea’s engineering team is on hand to answer technical questions that may arise. “We have videos showing RSV in operation, as we are already using it in different countries,” said Carlin.

A technology zenith Artificial lift specialists Zenith Oilfield Technology delivered a technical presentation at ADIPEC. Julian Cudmore, new technology manager for the Aberdeenshireheadquartered company, presented a paper on the company’s Z-Sight technology entitled: ‘Using real time automated optimisation and diagnosis to manage an artificially lifted reservoir,’ which discussed three case studies where installation of the technology lead to improved production from the reservoir. Cudmore said: “Management and

optimisation of artificially lifted wells is becoming increasingly more important for operators. Zenith’s innovative Z-Sight technology enables a field of wells to be efficiently managed by providing automated well test data for production surveillance, optimum operational set points to enhance production and real time protection to reduce expensive well interventions. It has already demonstrated several successes in the Middle East and South America resulting in increased oil production and profits.

Trinity links with Integrated Equip’

UAE-based Trinity Holdings, has signed a cooperation agreement with Integrated Equipment, a USA-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM), to repair, service and distribute Pressure Control Equipment for the upstream oil and gas sector in the Middle East. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in this regard by Jagdish Shah, Chairman, Trinity Holdings, and Ash Sharma, President, Integrated Equipment, Inc. recently in Dubai. The agreement framework will allow Trinity Holdings to combine its engineering capabilities and local knowledge with Integrated Equipment’s manufacturing and global repair service expertise in offering customised solutions for specific requirements of the industry. Trinity Integrated Equipment, Trinity’s joint venture with Integrated Equipment, will pursue repair and re-certification of oil and gas equipment and products including Blowout Preventers (BOPs), Pulsation Dampeners, Wellhead Equipment and

Accumulators. Local distribution of Integrated Equipment’s API Monogramed BOPs, BOP spare parts, Gate Valves, Choke & Kill Manifolds, various Wellhead and Xmas Tree components and a full range of associated Elastomeric products are also within the scope of joint operation. These products and equipment are certified under American Petroleum Institute (API) and American Society of Mechanical

‫اتفاقية استراتيجية بين شركة الخدمات والحلول التوربينية‬ ‫وشركة قطر لألسمدة الكيماوية «قافكو»‬

‫أكدت أبوظبي انها تخطط لتكثيف جهودها لزيادة انتاجها‬ ‫من الغاز لتلبية النهضة المتسارعة على هذا المصدر النظيف‬ ‫للطاقة وذلك في أعقاب انشاء ادارة جديدة للغاز من قبل‬ ‫شركة بترول أبوظبي الوطنية «أدنوك»‪.‬‬ ‫وقال محمد بن ساحوه السويدي مدير ادارة الغاز في‬ ‫«ادن��وك» التي تم استحداثها أخيرا ‪ :‬ان هناك توجه للتركيز‬ ‫أكثر على اح��ال الغاز محل النفط كمصدر للطاقة في‬ ‫ام��ارة أبوظبي على المديين القصير والبعيد ف��ي اط��ار‬ ‫استراتيجية شاملة لدولة االمارات بشكل عام وامارة أبوظبي‬ ‫بشكل خاص ‪ .‬وأش��ار الى أن تلك االستراتيجية تتطلب سد‬ ‫الفجوة في ام��دادات الغاز بالدولة ‪ ..‬مضيفا ‪ :‬أن معدل‬ ‫استخدام الغاز من قبل «أدنوك» لحقن حقول النفط سيرتفع‬ ‫بشكل كبير في السنوات العشر القادمة ليصل الى مايتراوح‬ ‫بين ‪ 500‬مليون وملياري قدم مكعب يوميا ‪.‬‬ ‫وقال ‪ :‬دعنا الننسى أن أدنوك تقوم كذلك بتصدير الغاز‬ ‫المارة دبي والغاز المسال لليابان ولذلك فان أبوظبي ودوال‬ ‫أخ��رى في المنطقة قد تواجه فجوة في ام��دادات الغاز‬ ‫المحلية‪ .‬واضاف (لذلك فان ادارة الغاز في شركة «أدنوك»‬ ‫ستقوم باتخاذ خطوات واج��راءات جذرية لمعالجة النقص‬ ‫قبل أن يتحول الى مشكلة رئيسية تصعب معالجتها ) ‪.‬‬ ‫وأشار السويدي الى العديد من مشاريع الغازالتي يتم‬ ‫تنفيذها حاليا والمخططط لها في المرحلة المقبلة بما فيها‬ ‫مشروع الغاز الحامض وهو مشروع مشترك بين أدنوك‬ ‫وشركة أوكسيدنتال تصل كلفته الى ‪ 10‬بايين دوالر ويتوقع‬ ‫أن ينتهي العمل به بنهاية عام ‪. 2014‬‬ ‫وقال ‪« :‬هذا المشروع وغيره من المشاريع الكبيرة سيتيح لنا‬ ‫العمل على سد الفجوة بينالعرض والطلب على الغاز في‬ ‫السوق المحلي في الفتترة القادمة» ‪.‬‬

‫وقعت اليوم شركة الخدمات والحلول التوربينية‬ ‫اتفاقية استراتيجية مع شركة قطر لألسمدة‬ ‫الكيماوية "قافكو" اتفاقية استراتيجية تقوم‬ ‫بموجبها شركة الخدمات والحلول التوربينية‬ ‫بتقديم دعم متكامل لبرنامج شركة «قافكو»‬ ‫ال��خ��اص بتوربينات آف��ون الغازية وذل��ك خال‬ ‫معرض ومؤتم��ر أبوظبي الدولي للبترول‬ ‫«أديبك ‪ »2012‬الذي يقام خال الفترة بين ‪ 11‬و‪14‬‬ ‫نوفمبر ال��ج��اري في مركز أبوظبي الوطني‬ ‫للمعارض «أدنيك»‪.‬‬ ‫يذكر أن الشركة تقوم بتوفير خدماتها وحلولها‬ ‫المتكاملة لشركة «قافكو»منذ أكثر من عشر‬ ‫سنوات وتأتي هذه االتفاقية لتعكس حرص‬ ‫الطرفين على تعزيز ال��ش��راك��ة االستراتيجية‬ ‫ولضمان حصول شركة «قافكو» على حلول‬ ‫صيانة متكاملة على المدى البعيد‪.‬‬ ‫وقال أحمد الموسى الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الخدمات والحلول التوربينية تعليقا على توقيع‬ ‫االتفاقية‪ :‬نحن واث��ق��ون ب��أن ه��ذه االستراتيجية‬ ‫ستسهم في تعزيز أعمال شركة قافكو إذ تعتبر‬ ‫الصيانة عملية مستمرة ودوري��ة وحين يقوم‬ ‫الطرفان بالعمل عليها كفريق واحد فإن النتائج‬ ‫على األعمال ستكون ايجابية‪.‬‬

‫أعلنت الكويت أنها ستضخ حوالي ‪ 56‬بليون دوالر في مشاريع ضخمة لتوسعية‬

‫طاقةانتاج النفط والغاز في األعوام الخمسة القادمة في اطار استراتيجية تهدف‬

‫الى تطوير قطاع الطاقة لتبيو االحتياجات المالية المتنامية ‪.‬‬

‫واشار سامي الرشيد رئيس شركة نفط الكويت في ورقة قدمها على هامش‬

‫معرض «اديبك ــ ‪ »2012‬الى أن الكـــويت تعتـــزم زيادة طاقة انتاجها من النفط‬

‫الى ‪ 3.65‬كليون برميل يوميــــا بحلول عام ‪ 2020‬ونحـــــو ‪ 4‬ماليين برميل يوميا‬ ‫بحلول عام ‪. 2030‬‬

‫وقال ‪ :‬إن هذه االستثمارات الكبيرة ستؤدي من مختلف المصادر سواء داخل أو‬

‫خارج الكويت ‪ ،‬واضاف ‪ :‬بالطبع إ هذه الزيادة تتطلب العمل على تنمية احتياطيتنا‬

‫النفطية وتحقيق اكتشافات جديدة وخاصة في المناطق البحرية‪.‬‬

‫وكشف عن خطة لدفع طاقة انتاج الكويت من الغا ز بعشرة أضعاف لتصل‬

‫الى ‪ 1.5‬بليون قدم مكعب من الغاز بحلول عام ‪ 2030‬وذلك من خالل تظوير تطوير‬

‫االحتياطي الحالي والبالغ نحو ‪ 35‬تريليو قدم مكعبة ‪.‬‬

‫ذكر مسؤول في شركة شلمبرجير األمريكية لخدمات حقول النفط ألن عددا من دول‬

‫تكنولوجية وصناعية كبيرة للصين في‬

‫الخليج بدأت في تطبيق تقنية الحقول الذكية لتصبح من أوائل الدول في العالم التي‬

‫منطقة الشرق األوسط بهدف ضمان‬

‫تستخدم هذه التكنولوجيا في حقولها ‪ .‬وقال تشاك آرسينو مدير المبيعات والتسويق في‬ ‫الشركة الى أن هذه التقنية توفر لدول الخليج مبالغ مالية كبيرة وزيادة انتاجية الحقول ‪.‬‬ ‫واضاف في حديث للنشرةاليومية «أن هذه التقنية المتطورة تؤدي الى تحسن عملية‬ ‫ضبط االنتاج واالستخدام األمثل للحقول وتقليل األعطال وتقليص كمية المياه المالحة‬ ‫التي تنتج مع الخام مما يوفر على المنتجين عملية فصل النفط عن الماء وهي عملية‬ ‫مكلفة جدا» ‪ .‬وأكد أرسينو ان هذه التقنية ذات فعالية كبيرة في عملية ضبط االنتاج‬ ‫وتحسين معدل االستخدام وزيادة احتياطي الحقول‪ ..‬مشيرا الى أن‪/‬االمارات والسعودية‬ ‫ودول خليجية أخرى بدأت في السنوات الماضية تطبيق هذه التكنولوجيا وأنه يتوقع‬ ‫عملية تطبيقها في األعوام القادمة بمساعدة الشركات المتخصصة في هذا المجال‬

‫االستكشاف واإلنتاج لضمان تحقيق المرحلة‬ ‫التالية م��ن نموها االق��ت��ص��ادي المستدام‪.‬‬ ‫وفيما يعتبر أم��ن ال��ط��اق��ة م��ن األول��وي��ات‬ ‫األساسية على أجندة كل دول��ة مع التنويه‬ ‫مدى زمني لالستفادة من احتياطات الغاز‬

‫ب��ال��دور ال��م��ح��وري ال��م��ه��م ال��ذي تلعبه‬

‫في العالم مع قدرتها على إنتاج المستويات‬ ‫ً‬ ‫الحالية لمدة تصل إلى ‪ 120‬عاما‪ ،‬أي ما يعادل‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫تقريبا ضعف المعدل العالمي البالغ ‪ 64‬عاما‪.‬‬

‫ً‬ ‫أعلنت شركة شل العراق أنها تقوم حاليا بتنفيذ أكبر مشروع‬ ‫لتقليص حرق الغاز بالعالم في العراق بهدف خفض الكميات‬ ‫المحروقة واستخدام الفائض في مواجهة الطلب المحلي‬ ‫المتزايد نتيجة عودة النمو االقتصادي‪.‬‬ ‫وقال غاسر هانتر مدير مشروع شل ‪ -‬غاز الجنوب في العراق أن‬ ‫المشروع تبلغ تكلفته نحو ‪ 17‬مليون دوالر وأن��ه سيؤدي الى‬ ‫تقليص حرق الغاز في حقول النفط بنسبة ‪ .%70‬وأشار في تصريح‬ ‫صحفي في معرض "أدب��ي��ك" ال��ى أن الشركة الجديدة هي‬ ‫مشروع مشترك بين شل وشركة النفط الوطنية العراقية وشركة‬ ‫متسوبيشي اليابانية وانه سيتم تنفيذ المشروع على عدد كبير من‬ ‫حقول النفط العراقية‪.‬‬ ‫وأضاف أن هذا المشروع يعتبر غاية في االهمية النه سيوفر‬ ‫ً‬ ‫كميات غاز كبيرة تكفي لتلبية الطلب المحلي مشيرا الى أنه‬ ‫يتوقع أن ت��زداد كميات الغاز الموفرة بشكل كبير في الفترة‬ ‫القادمة نتيجة لقيام الحكومة العراقية بتنفيذ مشاريع ضخمة‬ ‫لزيادة الطاقة االنتاجية لحقول النفط ضمن اتفاقيات مع عدد من‬ ‫الشركات العالمية‪.‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وذكرأن العراق بدأ مؤخرا بتنفيذ مشروع إلعادة تأهيل شبكة‬ ‫االنابيب وبناء شبكات جديدة إلستيعاب كميات الغاز التي سيتم‬ ‫توفيرها في ذلك المشروع وتوزيعه لالسواق المحلية‪.‬‬

‫وردا علي سؤال حول استراتيجية شل بشأن مستقبل الطاقة العالمية‬ ‫قال سيرجيو كابوستا ان العالم يستخدم المزيد من الطاقة اآلن اكثر‬

‫اشاد الدكتور سيرجيو كابوستا كبير علماء شل و المدير العام لالبحاث‬ ‫الفيزيائية‪ ،‬بمبادرة حكومة ابوظبي النشاء م��ب��ادرة مصدر للطاقة‬ ‫المتجددة‪ .‬واكد ان أبو ظبي وضعت الطاقة المتجددة وتغير المناخ‬ ‫على رأس جدول أعمالها وبالتالي فانها تحقق نجاحات علي المستوي‬ ‫االقليمي والعالمي ‪.‬‬ ‫واضاف قائال «لقد أصبح هذا واضحا من خالل مجموعة متنوعة من‬ ‫اإلجراءات التي اتخذت خالل السنوات القليلة الماضية ‪ ،‬مثل إنشاء مبادرة‬ ‫مصدر والقمة العالمية لطاقة المستقبل»‪ .‬واكد المدير العام لالبحاث‬ ‫الفيزيائية بشركة شل العالمية ومقره مدينة هيوستن االمريكية ان‬ ‫مبادرة أبوظبي هي مثال رائ��ع للحكومات األخ��رى على أن تحذو‬

‫من أي وقت مضى في تاريخنا والطلب العالمي على الطاقة يمكن‬ ‫أن يزيد بمقدار الثلثين لعام ‪ .2050‬ومضي يقول « هكذا يصبح التحدي‬ ‫وتوفير المزيد من الطاقة كبيرا ويزداد تنوعا والبد من االستجابة‪ ،‬لتوفير‬ ‫الط��اقة وإزاء هذا الواقع الملئ بالتحدي��ات فإن الق��رن الحادي‬ ‫والعشرين س��يكون «ق��رن الغاز الطبيعي»‪.‬‬ ‫ووصف الغاز الطبيعي بانه أنظف ويس��هم في تخفيض انبع��اثات‬ ‫«سي او تو» بدال من حرق الوقود األحفوري في الهواء‪ ،‬كما ان الفوائد‬ ‫التي تحققت عن طريق التحول الي الغاز مذهلة‪.‬‬ ‫وقال انه على سبيل المثال ‪ ،‬في مجال توليد الطاقة ‪ ،‬ومحطات الغاز‬ ‫الحديثة ينبعث بين ‪ ٪ 50‬و ‪ ٪ 70‬من غاز ثاني اكسيد الكربون اي أقل من‬ ‫محطات الفحم «سي او تو» التقليدية لكل كيلو وات من الكهرباء‬

‫وقال انه يمكن تطوير موارد الغاز الطبيعي بتكلفة تضمن الطاقة‬ ‫بأسعار معقولة للمستهلك كما ان توليد الكهرباء بالغاز اليحتام الي‬ ‫رأس المال الضخم مثل الفحم والطاقة النووية‪ .‬واضاف كبير علماء شل‬ ‫قائال انه باستخدام التكنولوجيا ‪ ،‬يمكن أن تتحول شركة شل للغاز‬ ‫الطبيعي في بعض منتجات الطاقة أكثر تنوعا وج��ودة عالية في‬ ‫العالم‪ .‬وحول الجهود المبذولة للحد من انبعاثات الكربون قال ان الغاز‬ ‫الطبيعي متوفر ‪ ،‬بأسعار معقولة ‪ ،‬ومقبولة ‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى أنها تلعب‬ ‫دورا هاما في توليد الطاقة والمهم أيضا باالشتراك مع مصادر الطاقة‬ ‫المتجددة ‪ ،‬لمواجهة مشاكل االنقطاع في االمدادات‪.‬‬ ‫وقال ان إنتاج شل من الغاز الطبيعي يصل الي ‪ ٪ 50‬وهناك المزيد‬ ‫من انتاج الغاز الطبيعي في عام ‪ .2012‬وقال انه من المهم أن ندرك أن‬ ‫الماليين من المستهلكين أكثر كفاءة وتعاونا في خفض االنبعاثات‬ ‫الكربونية‪ .‬وسئل حول نظرته إلى مستقبل العالم بعد ‪ 40‬سنة من اآلن‬ ‫في ضوء ارتفاع عدد سكان العالم إلى ‪ 9‬باليين نسمة وكم ستكون‬ ‫الطلب على الطاقة المتجددة في ذلك الوقت قال كبير علماء شل‬ ‫«يجب أخذ نظرة شاملة ‪ ،‬وليس فقط الحديث عن استخدام الطاقة أكثر‬ ‫وأكثر لكل فرد من السكان ولكن هذا الرقم آخذ في االزدياد السكاني‬ ‫في حد ذاته» واكد انه رغم تنامي الدور الذي تلعبه مصادر الطاقة‬ ‫المتجددة وهو دور متزايد األهمية اال ان النفط والغاز سيظل ال غنى‬ ‫عنه في مزيج الطاقة لعقود قادمة‪.‬‬ ‫وتحدث عن «التكنولوجيات الناشئة» التي تطبقها شل ودورها في‬

‫خلق الكفاءة في استخدام الطاقة والحد من الكربون وهي خطوة قد‬ ‫حدثت ‪ ،‬وقال ان من المهم في هذا السياق ان البنية التحتية للطاقة‬

‫حاليا التزال متواضعة و ليست على ما يرام وتوقع ان تشهد مصادر‬ ‫الطاقة المتجددة زي��ادة كبيرة في السنوات المقبلة‪ ،‬وح��ول توقعاته‬ ‫انخفاض الطلب العالمي على النفط الخام بسبب الطاقة المتجددة‬

‫ومصادر الطاقة النظيفة قال ان الطلب العالمي على الطاقة سوف‬ ‫يرتفع بنسبة الثلثين في ‪ ، 2050‬كما فإن العالم بحاجة إلى كل الطاقة‬

‫التي يمكن ان تحصل‪ .‬وقال انه على سبيل المثال ‪ ،‬في ع��ام ‪ 2010‬فان‬ ‫توقعات الطاقة العالمية ‪ ،‬ووكالة الطاقة الدولية اشارت إلى أن الطلب‬

‫على النفط الخام ارتفع من ‪ 78‬مليون برميل الي‪ 99‬مليون برميل يوميا‬ ‫‪ ،‬وحول حول استكشاف تكنولوجيات جديدة ومنصة الغاز الطبيعي‬ ‫المسال العائمة ومدي تطبيقها في دول الخليج قال ان التكنولوجيا‬ ‫واالبتكار هي مفاتيح التخاذ صناعة الطاقة إلى المستوى االكثر تقدما‬

‫و في عام ‪ 2010‬انفقت شل علي البحث والتطوير ‪ ،‬أكثر من ‪ 1‬مليار دوالر‬ ‫أمريكي وهو أعلى معدل بين شركات النفط الدولية‪.‬‬

‫وقال ان لدينا القدرة علي ابتكار محطات الغاز الطبيعي المسال‬

‫العائمة وفعلنا ذلك بنجاح مؤخرا في استراليا ‪ ,‬وقد سمحت خبرتنا عبر‬ ‫سلسلة من االبحاث والتجارب وعبر التكنولوجيا والهندسة كسر الحدود‬

‫من تسييل الغاز الطبيعي في الخارج مباشرة ‪ ،‬اي في موقع حقل‬

‫الغاز ‪ ،‬ب��دال من مد خطوط أنابيب الغاز إل��ى الشاطئ لمزيد من‬ ‫المعالجة‪.‬وقال ان‪ .‬هذه التكنولوجيا المبتكرة لشركة شل تسمح بتطوير‬ ‫حقول الغاز البحرية التي كانت حتي وقت قريب مكلفة للغاية أو من‬

‫الصعب جدا تطويرها ‪ ،‬أو بسبب المخاوف البيئية من مشاريع الغاز‬ ‫الطبيعي المسال البرية‪.‬‬

‫وخلص القول انه من هذا المنطلق نستطيع أن ضخ المزيد من الغاز‬

‫من اعماق البحار إلى السوق بنجاح ‪ ،‬لكافة االستخدامات الصناعية‬ ‫والمنزلية واعتبر ان نجاح شركة شل في بناء أول منشأة عائمة للغاز‬ ‫الطبيعي المسال للحقل البحري في أستراليا خطوة هامة لتطوير‬ ‫الحقول البحرية في العالم وخفض تكاليف االنتاج ‪.‬‬

‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫أبدى وزير النفط السعودي علي النعيمي إهتماما كبيرا بالمعهد‬ ‫وم��ش��اري��ع وأف��ض��ل ال��م��م��ارس��ات المتبعة‬ ‫والمطبقة في أدن��وك من خال المحاضرات البترولي التابع لشركة أدنوك اذ زار جناح أدنوك في معرض «أديبك»‬ ‫أمس واستمع لشرح مطول عن المعهد ودوره في تأهيل المواطنين‬ ‫التقنية التوضيحية‪.‬‬ ‫ك��م��ا ق��ام ال��ع��دي��د م��ن ط��اب ال��م��دارس للعمل في هذا القطاع الحيوي‪.‬‬ ‫وقال مسئولون بالمعهد أن نحو ‪ 800‬طالب مواطن بما فيهم ‪ 140‬طالبة‬

‫وال��ج��ام��ع��ات والمعهد ال��ب��ت��رول��ي وم��درس��ة‬ ‫غلينيلغ أبوظبي بزيارة جناح أدن��وك وتعرفوا قد تخرجوا من المعهد منذ انشائه عام ‪ 2001‬بمبادرة من شركة «أدنوك»‬ ‫على النشاطات المختلفة لقطاع النفط والغاز بالتعاون مع شركات بترولية عالمية مثل برتيش بتروليوم وشل وتوتال‬ ‫ً‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وجودكو‪ .‬وقدم وزير النفط باالمارات محمد الماملي شرحا مطوال عن‬ ‫وفرص العمل للمستقبل‪.‬‬ ‫دور المعهد لوزير النفط السعودي وذلك خال جولة لهما في أجنحة‬ ‫معرض أدبيك‪ .‬واستمع الوزير السعودي كذلك الى شرح من الطالبة‬

‫بالمعهد سارة راشد الظاهري التي أوضحت أن المعهد يشمل خمسة‬

‫تخصصات على أساس المنهاج االمريكي (‪ )ABET‬مشيرة الى أنه تم‬

‫تخريج حوالي ‪ 800‬طالب مواطن منهم ‪ 140‬فتاة مواطنة يحملون اآلن‬ ‫شهادات البكالريوس والماستر ‪. ))MA‬‬ ‫ً‬ ‫وذكرت ان هناك حوالي ‪ 1000‬طالب وطالبة يدرسون في المعهد حاليا‬ ‫وأن هناك خطة الستحداث شهادة الدكتوراه في مختلف التخصصات‬ ‫التي تشمل الهندسة الميكانيكية والهندسة الكهربائية والهندسة‬

‫الكيميائية وهندسة البترول وعلوم طبقات االرض‪.‬‬

‫وأكدت الطالبة لوزير البترول السعودي أن «المعهد يساهم بشكل‬

‫كبير في تأهيل الكوادر الوطنية لتأخذ دورها في ادارة قطاع النفط في‬

‫االمارات وتعزيز دوره في عملية التنمية االقتصادية واالجتماعية» ‪.‬‬

‫وأش��ارت الى أن العمل أعد نحو ‪ 200‬بحث بالتعاون مع الشركات و ‪14‬‬ ‫جامعة دولية لمعالجة المشكات التي تواجه شركات البترول في‬ ‫مجال التنمية البشرية سواء كانت شركات محلية أو دولية‪.‬‬

‫أرصفة المنصات البحرية وخطوط األنابيب‬ ‫البح��رية المطلوب��ة لتجميع النفط وحقن‬ ‫الماء وك��اب��ات الكه��رباء واالتص��االت‬ ‫البحرية ال��ى جانب االنتهاء م��ن نشاء ‪27‬‬ ‫جزيرة صناعي��ة وم��د الجس��ور الفرعية‬ ‫الرئيسي��ة للحقل‪.‬‬ ‫ولفتت الشرك��ة الى أن عمليةالتطوير‬ ‫ستشمل كذلك انشاء جسور بطول ‪ 41‬كليو‬ ‫مترا ومعابر بطول ثاثة كيلو مترات ووحفر‬ ‫آبار لتوفير المياه ومرافق حقنومعمل لتوليد‬ ‫الكهرباء بطاقة ‪ 420‬ميجاوات ‪.‬‬ ‫وأكدت الشركة �نه سيكون بامكانالحقل‬ ‫العماق ان��ت��اج ‪ 900‬أل��ف برميل م��ن الخام‬ ‫الثقيل يوميا عند تشغيله في ديسمبر عام‬
