MARIONColeman DEACON

MARION Coleman DEACON

Mr. Marion Coleman was born on July 28, 1949 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Annie Mae Nelson and the late Nathan Mott, Jr.

Marion was preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Peabody, Billy Gary, Nathan Mott, Jr. and his sister, Annie Lee Harris.

He graduated from Carver High School in 1967. Afterwards, he served in the Army where he became a licensed optician. After working as an optician for a while, he changed careers and worked at Dolly Madison. He landed at Kellogg's where he ultimately retired. In 1993, he met and fell in love with soulmate, Jorene.

Marion lived with the heart of a driver; always forward, savoring the ride, and leaving behind a trail of laughter and love. He was a devoted servant of Christ and served as a deacon at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Marion enjoyed having a hearty laugh, helping and being there for others, working wiht his hands - whether it was working on vehicles or building things, watching sports, and cherishing the time he spent with his loved ones.

Marion made his transition into eternity on September 5, 2025. He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories his wife, Jorene Coleman; two daughters, Makeba Coleman and Maraschina Harris (Derek); one step-son, Brad Murray; eight grandchildren, Meari Jones, Malaia Jones, Derek Harris Jr. (Chris), Makenzie Harris, Mekhi Harris, Daniah Harris, Jordyn Murray, Colin Turner; siblings, Georgia Shields, Ernest Moffett, Dora Jones, Mary Graham (John), Rita Fraiser, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Like the cars he adored, he was one of a kind: classic, powerful, and unforgettable. His story will keep cruising on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

My Love

To Marion, my love, my friend who became my loving husband, a true blessing from the Lord and a reflection of His perfect love. The Lord joined our hearts and I will forever thank Him for that gift…

I never saw the moment coming, The goodbye I couldn’t say. Now I hold our memories tightly, Your love guides me each day.

Though shock and sorrow linger, And the pain is hard to bear, I find comfort in our laughter And the life we chose to share.

We were different in many ways, Yet loved unconditionally. Two hearts were joined together, As only God could decree.

I love and miss you dearly, Each breath reminds me still. You were a God-sent blessing, A gift beyond all will.

Your steady love shaped my days, Your memory my guiding light. Until we meet again, my love, I’ll keep you in my heart each night.

Forever your wife, Jorene

“Papa, your stories and the love you shared will forever echo in our hearts"

- Grandchildren

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Philippians 4:6 NLT

“I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my Papa you’ll be.” That’s a reference from one of my favorite books. Papa I love you and I’ll miss you dearly. Your smile and the cadence in your voice will forever be etched in my memory.

- Makenzie

“God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

Matthew 5:4 NLT

“Three things will last forever, faith, hope, and love and the greatest of these is love.”

1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

Our Daddy

Our rock, our hero, our heart

We are blessed to have experienced the amazing love that you had for us and our children. You are the absolute best Dad and Papa, and we will forever treasure each and every beautiful moment we shared together.

Your Daughters, Makeba and Maraschina

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

Isaiah 41:10 NLT

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back, for just a little while.

Then we could sit and talk again, just like we use to do. You always meant so very much and always will too.

The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain, But you’re forever in my heart until we meet again.
