Obituary
Carol Denise Ferguson Hill entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at St Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. She was ,born on November 5, 1961, in Aschenfenberg, Germany to the late James and Frances Ferguson.
Carol was afforded the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States and Germany as the child and wife of proud military service members.
Carol was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of really getting to know or even meeting her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, giving her all, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. She left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her wit and charming dry sense of humor.
We ask that you remember her not for the sudden way her life ended but for the way it was lived, but for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who knew her. Carol never met a stranger regardless of where she went.
She was a member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. Carol enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her siblings, children, and grandchildren. She relished spending time at family get-togethers for holidays and any other occasion that would bring the family together.
Carol‘s memory will be cherished by her husband, Daniel Hill, Sr.; two children, Daniel Hill, Jr. (Angel) and Daesha Hill both of Columbus; three very special grandchildren, Daniel III, Pierre, and Paiton; one sister, Antoinette (Malcolm) Smith of Newnan, GA; three brothers, James Ferguson of Smith, AL, Michael (Shirley) Ferguson of Albany, GA and Steven (Rosalyn) Ferguson of Smith, AL; three brothers-in-law, Thiery Godette, Patrick (Karelis) Godette and Mark (Tammy) Godette; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Although Carol’s physical presence may no longer radiate within our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Carol, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts, mind, and memories.

GOD ONLY TAKES THE BEST
“God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, So, he put his arm around you, and whispered, “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
