REVOLUÇÃO SEXUAL?

O termo revolução sexual é utilizado para referir a transformação dramática nas atitudes em relação ao sexo, à actividade sexual e à identidade sexual que tem tido lugar no Ocidente desde os anos 60. Tem culminado mais recentemente e mais dramaticamente nos notáveis sucessos políticos do movimento LGBTQ+ - especialmente o transgénero, que é, de certa forma, a realização mais notável da revolução sexual.

As mudanças no comportamento sexual que caracterizaram os últimos 50 anos estão relacionadas com um processo mais geral de transformação, que envolve a transição para a vida adulta, a formação e o comportamento reprodutivo, que teve início na Europa do Norte e Ocidental entre as décadas de 1960 e 1970.Esta mudança difundiu-se lentamente noutros locais e foi definida como a Segunda Transição Demográfica para a distinguir da Primeira Transição Demográfica, que consistiu na passagem de um regime de elevada mortalidade e fertilidade para um regime de baixa mortalidade e fertilidade. Contudo, não sabemos se o impacto desta nova revolução será igual ou maior do que a primeira revolução sexual, nomeadamente para as próximas gerações, mas sabemos que este era um caminho necessário e certamente será um marco na evolução do ser humano.
