KEY NEWS December2024

GREETINGSFROMTHE LIEUTENANTGOVERNOR

Hello Division 3! It’s December, which means that we are approaching the holiday season! Seeing as it will be Christmas break soon, most clubs will not be meeting for a large part of the month. That being the case, I have endeavored to include some information that will be “evergreen” so that it will still be relevant in our second semester;

In addition to the familiar links, I’ll be including ones for the Kiwanis Children’s Fund scholarship and the mental health-focused non profit Erika’s Lighthouse! I hope everyone will take their upcoming free time as an opportunity to serve our community this holiday season, and I wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Earl Collins Foundation Grants

Named in honor of the decorated Kiwanian Dr. Earl A. Collins, the Earl Collins Foundation was founded in 1960 in order for Missouri-Arkansas Kiwanians to invest funds into youth organizations, including Circle K International, Builders Clubs, KKids, Aktion Clubs, and our very own Key Clubs! In 1984, the Earl Collins Scholarship Fund was incorporated to further honor Dr. Collins. In 2020 The Earl Collins Foundation expanded to add a Grant Program for service leadership programs such as Key Club to fund service projects which require funding beyond the capacity of a single club. Every Key Club in Missouri and Arkansas is invited and encouraged to take advantage of the possibilities for service which the Earl Collins Foundation offers! Go to k14.site.kiwanis.org/earl-collins-foundation-scholarships/ and look for the ECF-Brochure under the “ECF Grants and Information” section for more information.
