Ring in the Year of the Snake with Ding Yi Music Company at the Go Local! Happy Chinese New Year Concert, in collaboration with China Cultural Centre. Under the baton of Ding Yi’s Resident Conductor Wong De Li, Dedric, the concert will feature Ding Yi percussion musicians, Low Yik Hang and Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble’s Chak Yuet Man taking the lead in the everpopular “Once Upon a Time in China”, while Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble’s musician Yeung Kin Ping will showcase his violin mastery in the dynamic “Tango in Temple Street”.
Home-grown vocalist Miss Lou will also enchant audiences with her own compositions and beloved festive pieces such as “The Spring Breeze Kisses My Face”. Join us for this joyous celebration of music, culture, and festive cheer!

Chamber Music Exchange Project by Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble
香港竹韵小集青年室内乐音乐家交流计划
To promote the development of Chinese chamber music and provide a platform for showcasing young musical talents, Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble (Hong Kong) has launched the “Youth Chamber Musician Exchange Programme” with the support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Continuously inviting orchestras from around the world to collaborate, the initiative aims to create and enhance possibilities for long-term cooperation and interaction between orchestras. Ding Yi Music Company is honoured to be invited to participate in the initial stage of the program, hoping to facilitate exchange between the two groups through this platform, promote collaborative forms of Chinese chamber music, and showcase local Chinese musical talents and works.
为推动华乐室内乐发展，搭建青年音乐人才展示平 台，竹韵小集（香港）在香港艺术发展局的支持下推 出“青年室内乐音乐家交流计划”，陆续邀请世界各 地的乐团合作，开创及促进乐团之间长远合作及互 动的可能性。鼎艺团荣幸受邀参与首阶段计划，希 望通过此平台促进两团之间的交流，推广华乐室内 乐合作形式，以及推广本土华乐人才及作品。
Resident Conductor of the Ding Yi Music Company, Music Director of the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra, and Nanyang Collective, Wong De Li, Dedric is an accomplished conductor with a passion for traditional Chinese music.
A recipient of the National Arts Council Arts Scholarship in 2014, Dedric was featured in The Straits Times Scholars’ Choice in 2016 and served as a panellist for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth’s Singapore Youth Action Plan in 2019. He earned his Master’s in Orchestral Conducting from the China Conservatory of Music under Professor Yang You Qing, guided by Maestro Tsung Yeh. He also holds a Diploma in Music (Suona Performance) from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where he was mentored by Singapore Cultural Medallion recipient Dr Tay Teow Kiat.
Dedric’s achievements include guest-conducting the China Sze Chuan Tian Zi Ensemble, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra String Ensemble, and adjudicating the Singapore National Chinese Music Competition in 2018.
Representing Singapore internationally, Dedric has performed in countries including China, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
WONG DE LI DEDRIC, CONDUCTOR 黄德励，指挥
His contributions to Chinese music have earned him the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Arts and Cultural Bursary twice, in 2004 and 2006.
Dedric is an executive member of the Singapore Chinese Music Federation, Vice President of the Suona and Guan Society of Singapore, and Ensemble Director of the School of the Arts (SOTA) Chinese Chamber Ensemble.
黄德励现任鼎艺团常任指挥、亚洲文化交响乐团与 南洋集社音乐总监，是一位致力于华乐传承与发展 的优秀指挥家。
2014 年，他荣获新加坡国家艺术理事会艺术奖学 金，并于 2016 年获《海峡时报》“杰出学者专访”报 道。2019 年，他受邀担任新加坡文化、社区及青年 部“青年行动计划”论坛小组成员。他于中国音乐 学院指挥系取得指挥硕士学位，师从杨又青教授， 并受国际知名指挥家叶聪大师的指导。早期，他于 2007 年毕业于南洋艺术学院音乐系（主修唢呐演 奏），并接受新加坡文化奖得主郑朝吉博士的指挥 指导。
黄德励多次受邀客席指挥，如中国四川天姿国乐 团、苏州交响乐团弦乐团等，并于 2018 年担任新加 坡全国华乐比赛评审。
近年来，他频繁代表新加坡参加国际艺术节，足迹 遍及中国、英国、加拿大、澳大利亚、菲律宾、马来西 亚、印度尼西亚及柬埔寨。他曾两次荣获新加坡福 建会馆艺术奖学金（2004、2006），并积极推动华乐 发展。
他现为新加坡华乐总会执行委员、新加坡唢呐与 管子协会副会长及新加坡艺术学院华乐室内乐团 总监。
Low Yik Hang is a scholarship recipient of the National Arts Council’s (NAC) Overseas Scholarship 2011 and China National Government Scholarship 2015. He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Chinese percussion at the Central Conservatory of Music in 2017, under the tutelage of renowned Chinese percussion professor Wang Jian Hua.
Low developed interest with percussion since Secondary school, under the influence of the former Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) gaohu and percussion musician Low Cher Yong. He then continued to learn Chinese percussion from renowned conductor Quek Ling Kiong and SCO percussionist Ngoh Kheng Seng, and kanjira from Sri D Rajagopal.
In 2014, he was awarded the NAC Capability Development Grant to pursue Middle Eastern rhythm raining at the Misirli Ahmet Rhythm Academy in Istanbul, Turkey, under direct mentorship of world-renowned darbuka Master Misirli Ahmet. He is currently the full-time percussion musician with Ding Yi Music Company and musician with A Bigger Bang.
LOW YIK HANG, PERCUSSION 刘峰华，打击乐
刘峰华 2017 年以硕士学位毕业于中央音乐学院，师 从王建华教授。中国国家政府奖学金和新加坡国 家艺术理事会海外奖学金得主的他，2014 年荣获 新加坡国家艺术理事会颁发的“ CDG 人才培养计 划”赴土耳其伊斯坦布尔的Misirli Ahmet节奏学院 学习中东鼓打击乐。
自中学时期开始学习打击乐，刘峰华启蒙于前新加 坡华乐团高胡兼打击乐演奏家刘慈勇老师。随后向 郭勇德老师学习民族打击乐，伍庆成老师学习西洋 打击乐，和Sri D Rajagopal老师学习南印度打击乐。 他现在是新加坡鼎艺团及敲棒集团打击乐团员。

As a locally influenced, exquisite and energetic Chinese music organisation, Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble is a registered charitable organisation supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Founded in 2003, the Ensemble promotes Chinese music in the local cultural scene. From its traditional Lingnan culture foundations to merging the aesthetics of the East and West, the Ensemble lives up to its artistic motto of “small but elegant, simple but refined” by presenting traditional and contemporary works with a distinctive local flair. The Ensemble’s resident musicians are young and talented music graduates from local institutes with rich experience in concert performance. The performances typically follow the traditional combinations of sizhu (silk and bamboo, or strings and winds), and the repertoire showcases the Lingnan vernacular instruments. The Ensemble has given more than 60 subscription concerts and 600 educational outreach concerts, premiered over 60 new works by local composers, and performed with numerous virtuosi both at home and overseas. Representing Hong Kong internationally since 2008, the Ensemble has gone on tour and cultural exchange to more than 40 countries and regions in Asia, North America and Europe.
成立于 2003 年，为重视本土、制作精致、充满活力 的专业中乐室内乐团，香港艺术发展局资助团体及 注册慈善机构，除深入研习岭南传统乐种，亦致力 发展本地原创中乐，秉承“本土精英，文化传承；植 根岭南，融会中西”的使命宣言，展现“最传统，最当 代；小而美，简而精”的艺术特色，以崭新的面貌展 示多采与多元的“香港中乐文化”，以卓越的演绎呈 献香港的声音。乐团常任乐师皆为香港各大专院校 音乐科系毕业的优秀青年音乐家，具有丰富演出经 验。乐团编制完整，配备各种岭南特色乐器。自成立 至今已举行乐季专场音乐会逾六十场及教育外展 音乐会逾六百场，首演香港作曲家新作逾六十首， 委约编创作品逾六十首，曾合作演出的国际与香港 本地名家不计其数。2008 年起多次代表香港前往 海内外交流演出，足迹遍及亚洲、北美洲及欧洲四 十多个国家和地区。
A millennial musician, Yeung focuses on the exploration and development of Cantonese music culture, including Cantonese music, Cantonese opera, and Cantonese narrative singing (such as nanyin). He is currently a co-founder of TroVessional, the music director of the Sing Fai Cantonese Opera Promotion Association, and a resident musician with the Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble.
Yeung received the Bachelor of Music (Honours) Degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in gaohu and erhu under the tutelage of Yu Qiwei and Zhang Chongxue, and was awarded the Cecil Leong Scholarship and K K Chak Memorial Scholarship. Since childhood, Yeung has been immersed in the art of Cantonese opera, initially learning from predecessors like Yang Jianhua and Fong Suet-ying, and he made his stage debut at the age of five. Subsequently, he studied Cantonese opera accompaniment under Tsang Kin-man and started playing the role of ensemble leader at the age of 14, making him one of the youngest ensemble leaders in Hong Kong.
YEUNG KIN PING, HUQIN/VIOLIN 杨健平，胡琴/小提琴
In recent years, Yeung has actively engaged in composition, creating works such as nanyin pieces: “Sahā World”, “Today”, “Hua-yen Buddhaverse” and “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer”; Cantonese Opera medley “Splendid young voices”, Suite for Chinese music ensemble “Lotus”. Additionally, he has undertaken numerous music arrangements, produced and coordinated several productions, including the TV program “Cantonese Opera Cultural Series” and the nanyin children’s song animation “Baby nanyin Sing Together.”
零零后音乐人，主攻广东音乐文化，涵盖粤乐、 粤剧、传统广东说唱(如南音)。现为伍人粤联合 创办人、声辉粤剧推广协会音乐总监、竹韵小集 常任乐师。
毕业于香港演艺学院音乐学士课程。自幼随胡兆轩 习琴，后于演艺学院师随余其伟及张重雪，双主修 高胡及二胡，在学期间获梁思豪奖学金及翟冠翘奖 学金。自幼亦学习粤剧艺术，先师随杨剑华、芳雪 莹等学戏，五岁时已粉墨登场。后师随曾健文学习 拍和(粤剧伴奏)，十四岁开始担任头架(粤剧音乐领 导)，是香港最年轻的头架之一。
近年来积极进行创作，包括南音作品：《娑婆界》、 《华严十方》、《笑傲江湖》等；粤剧套曲《雏声辉扬》 中乐小组套曲《莲动》等；并作有大量编曲及粤剧 音乐设计。亦策划/统筹多项制作，包括电视节目 《粤剧文化系列》、南音儿歌动画《南音儿歌乐融 融》等。
Chak Yuet Man was born in Hong Kong. In 2007, she studied Chinese percussion under the tutelage of Yim Hok-man during her studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing. At the Academy, Chak also studied western percussion as minor study with Choy Lap-tak and marimba with Sophia Wu. At the Academy, Chak was recipient of the Enchanting Music Scholarship, the Hong Kong Bank Foundation ─ Hong Kong and Mainland Student Exchange Scholarship, and the Exxon Mobil Scholarship. After that, she has studied Chinese Percussion with Li Zhengui, and Chen Zuohui on Chaozhou small-drum percussion music, and Li Qi on Luogujing.
Chak started studying percussion in 2002 with Luk Kin-bun and Law Hang-leung. Since 2003, Chak and her friends has formed the ensemble “Make in Hong Kong” to participate in the Synergy Drum 24-style Challenge Cup organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and won many awards. Chak also was the winner of xylophone solo class in the Fifty-ninth Hong Kong Schools Music Festival. She was also one of the winners in the 2009 Academy Concerto Competition. In 2011, she was the second runner-up in the Professional Class (Chinese percussion) in the Sixth National Youth Percussion Competition-cum-

percussion Summer Camp. Chak has collaborated with many performance groups and toured Russia, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Singapore, China.
Chak is currently a resident musician of the Windpipe Chinese Ensemble and freelance musician of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, Macau Chinese Orchestra and Music Office.
生于香港，翟悦敏 2007 年考入香港演艺学院，师承 阎学敏主修中国敲击乐，并随蔡立德副修西洋敲击 乐及胡淑徽学习马林巴琴，在学期间曾获得“醉人 音乐奖学金”、“汇丰银行慈善基金──香港与内地 学生交流奖学金”和“埃克森美孚奖学金”。亦曾随 李真贵学习中乐敲击乐、陈佐辉学习潮州小锣鼓、 李琪学习锣鼓经。
翟悦敏2002起师承陆健斌和罗行良学习，2003年与 友人组成“香港制造”敲击乐组合，并于香港中乐团 主办“香港活力鼓令二十四式擂台赛”屡获殊荣，亦 曾于第五十九届“香港学校音乐节”木琴独奏比赛 中夺得冠军、第六届“全国青少年打击乐比赛暨打 击乐夏令营”专业组获中国打击乐季军、2009 年于 香港演艺音乐学院协奏曲比赛中获胜。曾随多个艺 团出访俄罗斯、阿联酋、马来西亚、中国。
翟悦敏现为竹韵小集常任乐师、香港中乐团特约乐 师、澳门中乐团客席乐师及香港音乐事务处兼职演 奏员。
MISS LOU, VOCALIST 卢佩莘，演唱
Miss Lou (pronounced ‘lu’), also known as Lou Peixin, is Singapore’s Glamour Vintage Songbird - a classic vintage vocalist and songwriter who seamlessly blends old-school vocals with contemporary influences. Miss Lou uses her music as a uniting force to bridge east and west, young and old, and past and present, bringing hope and warmth to all.
The winner of the Noise Award from the National Arts Council’s Noise Music Mentorship 2016, she has worked with Mikal Blue (Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz), been mentored by Grammy Award-winning producer David Foster, and performed for heads of state, international organisations and brands like Ant International (Alibaba), Bvlgari, Ralph Lauren, and more, and her songs have been enjoyed by audiences from around the world.
Fresh off a 7-city China tour and a performance in London, her brand of Nanyang Jazz was raucously received by international audiences from East to West. Miss Lou’s most recent EP is titled ‘Golden World’, with 5 original songs written and produced for Mediacorp Channel 5 TV show ‘The Last Bout’ (2024), set in 1930s Singapore.
