ABOUT THE COVER The year 2020 marked the 30th Anniversary of the Department since it was entrusted to promote peace and order, ensure public safety and further strengthen local government capability aimed towards the effective delivery of the basic services to the citizenry by virtue of Republic Act No. 6975 or “Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990.” As such, the vibrant colors and the collage of photos used in this Annual Report depicted the Department’s journey in fulfilling its mandate, from bolstering citizen participation, serving as the bridge between the national and local government, ensuring public safety at all times and extending immense gratitude to the hardwork and commitment of DILG officials and personnel who provided their services through the years.
