Corkey Sinks Works… The woven yardage is part of a series called "Reformed Sacred Geometry." The meditative pattern making and repetition examines craft and mathematics as historically privileged knowledges amongst particular communities, cults, and sects while paying homage to domestic and decorative rituals. Corkey wove the piece on the TC-2 in the Fiber and Material Studies department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Corkey Sinks (b. 1983, Dallas, TX) lives and works in Chicago. She received a BA from the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies at the University of Redlands, CA in 2005 and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. Sinks works in a variety of media including sculpture, textiles, and printed matter. Through constellations of escapist fantasies, self-help culture, and geometric pattern-making, Sinks seeks practical and psycho-spiritual alternatives to the mainstream.
