Our club also attended End of the Year District Assembly. Betty Maxwell was presented with district service award and our club was awarded with the best newsletter of the year award for a medium size club. Betty has done a wonderful job with our newsletter! Virginia Boyle was a lucky recipient of a Paul Harris award at the assembly. Rotarians enjoyed hearing from our fellow Rotarians Roy Lassus who provided a wealth of information about fire safety in the home and Bill Parrish who enlightened Rotarians about the IRS. Dr. Andrew Adams who practices general medicine in our community spoke with fellow Rotarians about the importance of health and wellness It is not too late to purchase your Raffle Tickets for a Yamaha PGA West golf cart. If you are interested in tickets please go by Caldwell Banker or The Better Communication Clinic or if you know a fellow Rotarian, please let them know. We will be holding the drawing on June 6 at the Community Center. Your ticket is your entrance to an evening of fun and fellowship. Proceeds will benefit our Rotary clubs community projects i.e., Food Pantry, Hancock Animal shelter, our Dictionary Project. LADIES BRIDGE GROUP The Ladies Bridge Group meets every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Country Club. Our latest winners were: April 22: 1st Terre Settle, 2nd Conchetta Donnelly, 3rd Carole Hare; April 29: 1st Carole Hare, 2nd Terre Settle; May 6: 1st Amy Swint, 2nd Emilie Abell. DIAMONDHEAD WOMEN’S CLUB By Sandra Hatem, President 2559966 Diamondhead Women’s club met for the last time this year on May 6, 2015, at Diamondhead Country Club. We will resume again on September 2, 2015 for a new year with new officers that were installed at our last meeting. Our president for the next two years will be Jan Wiley, our Vice President will be Debbie Sykes, Our secretary will be Barbara Quebedeaux and Treasurer will be Jamie Morgan. The fund raisers for the year were a great success. Our last fundraiser Glitz and Titz that was held April 21, 2015 raised $7,894.51. Thanks to all our Artists: Silvia Corban, Judy Lee, Deborah Michel, Liz Schafer, Jane Bateman, Pam Marshall, and Carol Lilley for the beautiful art that was auctioned off. Thanks to all donating door prizes: Diamondhead Country Club, Sarah Schulze Big Hair, Mary Wheat, Gina Scarmardo, Aloha Wine and Spirits, Leslie Styhl, and Exit 16. Thanks to our committee who worked very hard: Nicole Boisdore’,Jeannie Carapetian, Sue Foster, Sandy Hatem, Terrie Ledbetter , Jan Menker, Barbara Quebedeaux , Jamie Morgan, Dinah Rhoades, Gina Scamardo, Sara Schulze, Jan Wiley and our chairman Mary Mizell. NEW STATE PEO OFFICERS INSTALLED Officers of the State Chapter of PEO were recently install at the State Convention held at the Golden Nuggett in April. PEO is an international educational philanthropic organization that provides financial assistance to help women of all ages attend college.
