Questions asked at this meeting DOUGLAS JANNEY – 23 WATKINSON STREET, DEVONPORT (28401) The Steele and Sorell Sts prioritization listed in page 43 of the “ANNUAL PLAN & ESTIMATES 2013-14” has an amount of $96,500.

The RNS Action Plan 3 years 2010-2013 states “The junction of Don Rd and Lovett Street will be required to be upgraded to a signalized intersection. This will provide continuous access across Don Road, as well as provide more defined breaks in traffic along Don Road and Steele Street……”

This prioritization requires the relocation of 2 “GIVE WAY” signs the obliteration of road markings (the Give Way bars) and installing new road markings on Steele St; the removal of islands on Sorell St, maybe installing the same in Steele St and 4 temporary “change signs”.

Q

How does the prioritization require such a humungous amount of money?

What has the $3,505 already been spent on?

Council write to the Minister for Planning highlighting the costs expended over a long period of time and express Council’s disappointment that an opportunity to increase business and employment in the region has been lost.

REMOVAL OF RV OVERNIGHT CAMPING FROM COLES BEACH (D307268) 250/13 RESOLUTION Ald Squibb / Jarman That Council: 1.

Amend resolution number 6580 of 2007 by removing the words “at Coles Beach for a period limited to twenty four hours,” as they appear in paragraph 1; and

2.

Ban “camping” in the eleven parking areas from Coles Beach, through Bluff Road to the end of Victoria Parade between the hours of 10.00 pm to 6.00am; and

3.

Install appropriate regulatory and information signage in the designated areas; and

4.

Prepare appropriate media releases, information sheets and website material to inform visitors of the camping restrictions and provide information about suitable alternatives.

RESOLUTION TO FINALISE DRAFT INTERIM PLANNING SCHEME (D307496) 251/13 RESOLUTION Ald Goodwin / Hollister That in accordance with section 30D(7) of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 Council modify the draft Devonport Interim Planning Scheme 2013 in accordance with the directions specified in the section 30D(6) Notice issued by the Minister for Planning on 7 August 2013 and provide to the Minister the final draft Devonport Interim Planning Scheme 2013 with a request that the scheme be declared.
