Although his name was made, and his fame spread, through his forceful playing in the traditional jazz style this is by no means the extent of his huge talent. Barnard’s is the perfect mainstream style, a cross between the lyricism and drive that the trumpet can achieve. He has played successfully in most of the major (and minor) jazz festivals in the world both with his own band and as a featured artist with international allstar line-ups. Appearing at the VIP Happy Hour (Fri 27 July), A Tribute to Louis Armstrong and Great American Songbook (Sat 28 July) and Bob Barnard in Centenary Court (Sun 29 July)
